The Fellows House is a four-star hotel and part of the luxury Curio Collection by Hilton.

This hotel benefits from a fantastic location just a five-minute walk from the University of Cambridge and a range of fine dining restaurants, artisan coffee shops, and shopping destinations, including the Grand Arcade, Cambridge Market Square, and the All Saint’s Garden Art & Craft Market.

The hotel is wheelchair accessible and offers a wide range of amenities, including complimentary WiFi, an indoor swimming pool, a large gym and washing facilities; there’s also an on-site restaurant and bar.

Rooms at the hotel come in two formats; a traditional hotel room or apartment-style.

If you’re only spending a few nights in Cambridge, then a hotel room here is ideal. However, if you’re looking to spend a little longer, consider upgrading to an apartment and benefit from a lounge area and a private kitchen.

2. Turing Locke

Turing Locke is a four-star hotel near the University of Cambridge.

This newly opened hotel is situated in the nearby area of Eddington, three miles from Cambridge city centre, so you’ll want to either take the bus, grab a taxi or hire a bike to travel between the two locations.

We opted to stay here on our recent break in Cambridge as it had on-site parking and offered apartment-style rooms complete with a kitchen and lounge area.

However, this hotel also comes complete with a state of the art on-site gym and high-speed complimentary WiFi, making it an excellent choice for those looking to stay in Cambridge for longer than just a night or two.

3. University Arms, Autograph Collection

The University Arms is a four-star hotel and part of the Autograph collection. It boasts a central location within Cambridge city centre next to the picturesque Parker’s Piece.

Facilities inside the hotel include a gym, library, conference room, ballroom and restaurant, while all of the 192 rooms inside the hotel come complete with complimentary WiFi, air conditioning, a coffee machine and a minibar.

While selected rooms also feature a balcony and terrace – an ideal added luxury in the summertime.

4. Madingley Hall

Five miles northwest of Cambridge city centre, you’ll find Madingley Hall, a five-star luxury hotel situated inside a 16th-century country house on an incredible 7 acres of land.

Given its distance from the city centre, staying here isn’t for everyone.

However, the potential inconvenience of a 20-minute car journey into the city is more than compensated in the affordability of rooms here, with prices often cheaper than three and four-star hotels closer to the city.

5. The Varsity Hotel & Spa

Just a five-minute stroll from the University of Cambridge, you’ll find the four-star Varsity Hotel & Spa.

This luxury hotel comes complete with a rooftop terrace and bar that provides scenic views over the city and across to the River Cam.

Other facilities at this incredible hotel include a state of the art gym next to a luxury spa and wellness centre, valet parking and an award-winning on-site gourmet restaurant.

Inside each of the luxurious rooms, you’ll also find underfloor heating, monsoon showers, a large TV and a coffee machine with selected rooms also coming complete with a balcony.

6. Hyatt Centric Cambridge

Hyatt Centric Cambridge is situated in Eddington, 3.5 miles northeast of the city centre and next door to Turing Locke – where we had the pleasure of staying during our most recent trip to Cambridge.

We opted to take the bus from outside the hotel into the city centre during our time here.

Buses run frequently, cost less than £2 per person, and take around 15 minutes, while Uber’s are also available for under £10.

This newly opened luxury hotel comes complete with an indoor, outdoor restaurant, a state of the art fitness centre and a bar.

While each room also has complimentary WiFi, a flatscreen TV and air conditioning. Parking is also available at the hotel in the underground car park for an additional fee.

7. Hotel Du Vin Cambridge

Once owned by the University of Cambridge, the luxury Hotel Du Vin is an architectural delight both inside and out.

This Grade II listed building offers a boutique hotel experience, with each room coming complete with Egyptian cotton sheets, monsoon showers, air conditioning and a large flatscreen TV.

The hotel also has an award-winning on-site bistro serving an extensive range of fine wines, champagne and cocktails.

The Clayton Hotel is situated in the incredibly vibrant new city quarter, just one minute’s walk from Cambridge Railway Station.

Amenities at the Clayton Hotel include a library, fitness centre and a brasserie serving locally sourced seasonal dishes in an informal style.
