30 Best Places To Eat At Universal Studios Hollywood
The Universal Studios Hollywood theme park and connecting entertainment district CityWalk is home to an extensive range of delicious restaurants for all budgets and taste buds to enjoy.
Having been Universal Studios Hollywood annual passholders for a number of years now, we’ve had the pleasure of eating at all of these restaurants (many on more than one occasion).
Places To Eat At Universal Studios Hollywood
All of the restaurants below are located inside the Universal Studios Hollywood theme park and subsequently require ticketed admission into the theme park.
If you’re based in the UK I recommend buying your Universal Studios Hollywood park tickets from AttractionTix. They have the most competitive prices and incredible customer service.

1. Three Broomsticks

If you’re a Harry Potter fan then you’ll no doubt want to visit the Three Broomsticks when visiting Universal Studios Hollywood. Situated inside the Wizarding World of Harry Potter this incredible quick-service restaurant serves a range of British cuisine including;
- Fish & Chips
- Shepherds Pie
- Roast Chicken Salad
- Bangers & Mash
2. Toadstool Cafe

Situated in Super Nintendo World on the Lower Lot of Universal Studios Hollywood, the newly opened Toadstool Cafe is a must-visit. This incredibly well themed-restaurant serves a range of American Italian dishes with a Super Mario twist.
Despite having only opened a couple of months ago, we’ve already tried everything on the menu here (and covered the reservation and dining process in more detail). Some of our favourite dishes include;
- Luigi Burger
- Fire Flower Spaghetti & Meatballs
- Super Star Chicken Salad
Given the demand, Toadstool Cafe reservations are required and can only be obtained once inside Super Nintendo World within Universal Studios Hollywood.

Situated in the Lower Lot of Universal Studios Hollywood is the ever-popular Jurassic CafΓ©. This quick-service restaurant has an extensive indoor seating area and serves a range of delicious American classics including;

4. Hollywood & Dine

Situated in the Upper Lot of Universal Studios Hollywood, just to the right as you walk through the park’s entrance and down Hollywood Blvd is Hollywood & Dine. This quick-service Asian restaurant serves a range of delicious foods including;

- Tuna Poke
- Cinnamon Tiger Tail Donut
- Funnel Cake
5. Minion Cafe

Situated in Super Silly Fun Land, is the relatively new quick-service restaurant, Minion Cafe. This establishment has limited outdoor seating but looks out onto the playground and splash pad making it popular for families.
We chose to eat here during our most recent trip to Universal Studios Hollywood and was delighted by the incredible range of delicious American cuisine including;
- Classic Grilled Cheese with Tomato Soup
- Chicken Bacon Ranch Mac n Cheese
- Pulled Pork Grilled Cheese with Banana BBQ Sauce
- Nutella Banana Pudding
6. French Street Bistro

Located just outside of Super Silly Fun Land in the Upper Lot of Universal Studios Hollywood is the French Street Bistro.
This small quick-service restaurant is often overlooked, but well worth keeping an eye out for if you’re travelling on a budget since most sandwiches and salads here are under $15. Some of our favourite dishes include;
- California Club Wrap
- Vegan BÑnh Mì
- Chicken & Swiss
- California Cobb Salad
7. Lard Lad Donut

If you’re looking to eat a donut bigger than your head, then be sure to visit the iconic Lard Lad Donuts in Springfield, home of The Simpsons. These donuts are iconic, delicious and more often than not best shared between two or even three people.
Universal Studios Hollywood Annual Pass Members are eligible for between a 10% and 15% discount on food and drink purchased at CityWalk. Meanwhile, selected Universal Studios Hollywood Season & Annual Pass Members can get either 10% or 15% off food and drink purchased inside the park.
8. Mulliganβs Irish Pub

Situated just outside of Super Silly Funland, opposite the Secret Life of Pets ride is Mulliganβs Irish Pub.
This small venue is the perfect place to pick up a pint of Irish beer including both Guinness and Samuel Adams, a cocktail, or even a tasty savoury snack such as a bag of chips (crisps) or peanuts.
9. Bumblebee Manβs Taco Truck

Situated in Universal Studios Hollywood’s Upper Lot, Springfield home of The Simpsons is home to a number of eateries including Bumblebee Manβs Taco Truck.
This is one of two Mexican quick-service restaurants at the theme park and offers a delicious range of tacos and nachos.
10. Krusty Burger

Situated in Springfield, in the Upper Lot of the Universal Studios Hollywood theme park is the world-famous Krusty Burger. Inside this establishment, you’ll find a Simpsons-themed food court featuring Krusty Burger, The Frying Dutchman and Cletusβ Chicken Shack.
This restaurant is a huge hit with families thanks to its wide range of both indoor and outdoor seating as well as delicious American favourites including;
- Burgers
- Hotdogs
- Fried chicken
- Pizza
11. Studio Cafe

Studio Cafe is situated in the Lower Lot of Universal Studios Hollywood next to the entrance for Revenge Of The Mummy: The Ride. This grab-and-go location offers breakfast until 11:00am and then a range of quick-service options including;
- California Cobb Salad

- Chicken Caesar Salad
- Personal Pizza Slice (Cheese or Pepperoni)
12. Luigi’s Pizza

Another fantastic option located in Springfield in the Upper Lot of Universal Studios is Luigi’s Pizza which unsurprisingly sells a range of delicious pizza and pasta dishes including;
- Nice Slice O’ Cheese Pizza
- Chicken Caesar Salad
- Fat Tony’s Witness-Protected Pasta
Pizzas here are sold by the slice, or in a family box with seven slices (from which you can choose Cheese, Pepperoni, The Meat Hater’s, or The Meat Liker’s) for $59.99.
13. Mel’s Diner

Mel’s Diner is a 50s-inspired diner situated in the Upper Lot of Universal Studios Hollywood. The decor of this restaurant boasts incredible attention to detail and comes complete with a jukebox that plays out some of the classics from the decade. The dishes here include;

- Hot Chicken Sandwich
- BBQ Brisket Sandwich
- Chicken Caesar Salad
Places To Eat At Universal Hollywood CityWalk
CityWalk is the entertainment district connected to Universal Studios Hollywood. Unlike the theme park, this area is free to enter and offers an extensive range of restaurants and stores alongside a cinema and indoor skydiving experience.
After a long day at Universal Studios Hollywood, we often finish with a table-service meal at one of the restaurants here before heading back to our hotel.
14. NBC Sports Grill & Brew

NBC Sports Grill & Brew is one of the largest and most popular restaurants in Universal’s CityWalk entertainment district.
With its laid-back atmosphere and large screens showing all the latest sports, the NBC Sports Grill is our go-to for traditional American food outside of the park. Some of our favourite dishes here include;
- Gruyère Burger
- Grilled Chicken Sandwich
- The Chili Bowl
- Nashville Hot Chicken Salad
15. Mini Monster

Mini Monster is one of the most unique quick-service dining locations at Universal’s CityWalk. All of the boba and teas here are made in small batches on-site and are available in either a take-home California classic glass jar or a giant light bulb jar which can be refilled at a discount.
16. VIVO Italian Kitchen

Vivo Italian Kitchen is a great choice for those looking for classic Italian food in a semi-formal setting at CityWalk. This restaurant can be the perfect place to relax and unwind after a long adventure-filled day at the parks.
That being said, this restaurant is also incredibly popular as such we recommend reserving a table or arriving early – especially during busy times.
17. The Toothsome Chocolate Emporium & Savory Feast Kitchen

The newly opened Toothsome Chocolate Emporium & Savory Feast Kitchen boasts an incredible range of fantastical fare all served in a one-of-a-kind enchanting 19th century-themed, Steampunk-inspired dining establishment. Some of our favourite dishes here include;
- Sedona BBQ Chicken
- Forest Mushroom Flatbread
- Fork & Knife Grilled Rib Eye Steak Sandwich
- Wild Mushroom Chicken Risotto
If you’re looking to visit Toothsome Chocolate Emporium & Savory Feast Kitchen when Universal Studios Hollywood is very busy then it’s worth reserving a table in advance since were left disappointed during our most recent visit as tables were fully booked until 9pm.
18. Wetzel’s Pretzels

Wetzel’s Pretzels is a Pasadena-based company serving delicious handcrafted pretzels alongside either a sweet or salty dish.
While the name suggests that pretzels are all that’s served at this CityWalk establishment you may be pleased to know that hog dogs are also on the menu – and believe me when I say, they are incredible!
19. Firehouse Subs

Firehouse Subs is situated in the upper food court at Universal’s CityWalk. This quick-service restaurant hasn’t been open long but has quickly made an impact and serves build-your-own sandwiches and grilled toasties using premium meats and cheeses all at an incredible price.
20. Voodoo Doughnut

Voodoo Doughnut is an iconic doughnut chain located in CityWalk. With a range of both traditional and quirky doughnut options, it’s easy to see why this has quickly become the place for grabbing doughnuts when visiting Universal Studios.
There are only four tables inside this establishment, so if you’re wanting to sit down and enjoy your donuts here then you’ll need to arrive early. Alternatively, during peak season you’ll find that this place has a queue out the door so you may want to place a mobile order instead,
20. Bubba Gump Shrimp Co.

Situated at the edge of CityWalk is the iconic Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. is a fantastic place to eat during your trip to Universal Studios Hollywood. This restaurant serves an extensive range of seafood dishes suitable for the entire family, including;

- Dumb Luck Coconut Shrimp
- Jenny’s Surf and Turf
21. Antojitos Cocina Mexicana

Antojitos Cocina Mexicana is a traditional Mexican restaurant at CityWalk serving more than 100+ tequilas, handcrafted cocktails and draft imports alongside a range of delicious dishes including;

Chick Chick Chicken is a quick-service restaurant that unsurprisingly serves a range of colourfully presented hand-breaded chicken with a nostalgic feeling that highlights exciting, yet familiar flavours. Some of our favourite dishes here include;

23. Cinnabon

The popular food chain Cinnabon serves an extensive range of sweet treats from its store at CityWalk. This is our go-to place for breakfast as we walk from the parking lot over to the park entrance, and depending on the day we’ve had we might just pick one up for the way home too!
24. Dongpo Kitchen

Dongpo is a popular chain of restaurants in Chinese which opened its first casual dining restaurant at Universal’s CityWalk just a couple of years ago. If you’re looking to try something a little different without breaking the bank then we recommend opting for;

- Dan Dan Noodles
- Organic Chicken Wonton Soup
- Homemade Pumpkin Cake
25. Pinks Famous Hot Dogs

Founded by Paul Pink back in 1939, this restaurant chain is still family-owned and operated. An LA landmark, this place is the perfect place to grab a quick affordable hot dog after a long day at the park.
26. Johnny Rockets

Having been founded in 1986 and with more than 350 locations in 28 countries, it’s safe to say that Johnny Rockets is somewhat of a familiar face here at Universal CityWalk.
However, this restaurant is so much more than just a regular chain burger joint. Instead, expect an innovative menu with dishes cooked to order from the finest ingredients served in a relaxed, casual atmosphere.
27. Wasabi

Wasabi is a Japanese restaurant that offers an extensive range of innovative speciality sushi rolls made using incredibly fresh, high-quality ingredients. This restaurant is relatively small and can be very popular, as such we highly recommend booking a table here in advance if you’re looking to dine here.
28. The Habit Burger Grill

Situated in the food court on the upper level at Universal’s CityWalk, The Habit Burger Grill is an award-winning American restaurant founded in California.
This restaurant is perhaps best known for its Charburgers grilled over an open flame. However, they also serve a range of signature sandwiches and fresh-cut salads too.
29. Taco Bell

If you’re looking for a familiar place to eat during your trip to Universal Studios Hollywood then look no further than Taco Bell.
This American-Mexican fast-food chain has a large restaurant space at Universal’s CityWalk from which it’s serving all the classics including the grilled chicken burrito and the signature beef quesadilla.
30. Sparky’s Mini Donuts and Chocolates

Sparky’s is a confectionery paradise that we highly recommend visiting on your way to the parking lot after a fantastic day at Universal Studios Hollywood. With an extensive range of homemade chocolates, truffles, caramel apples and more. Your sweet tooth is sure to be satisfied here.

π₯ Should I Buy Travel Insurance for a Visit to Universal Hollywood?
If you’re travelling to Universal Hollywood for vacation, then travel insurance is recommended. Basic travel insurance coverage with Safety Wing averages between $5 – $10 per day and offers peace of mind.
However, if a trip to Universal Hollywood isn’t part of a vacation. For example, you live locally. Then travel insurance isn’t likely to be necessary.
π Do I Need to Rent a Car for a Visit to Universal Hollywood?
You don’t need to rent a car to visit Universal Hollywood, as the theme park has Uber / Lyft pick-up and drop-off points.
However, if a trip to Universal Hollywood only makes up a portion of your vacation, then you may want to rent a car. I personally use Discover Cars to find the best car rental for all of my trips to Los Angeles.
π¨ Where to Stay When Visiting Universal Hollywood?
When visiting Universal Hollywood, I recommend staying at Loews Hollywood. From this hotel, you can take an Uber or Lyft to Universal Hollywood in under 15 minutes.
When it comes to booking any hotels in Los Angeles, I use either Booking.com or Hotels.com. However, for large families and groups, VRBO is my number one choice.
