Walt Disney World may be the most magical place on earth, however, it’s also increasingly becoming the most expensive place on earth too with the cost of park tickets increasing year after year.
A one-day ticket for Walt Disney World in 2023 will cost between $109 and $189 per person. The varying price is predominantly a result of when you visit the park with peak times costing more and off-peak times costing less.
Thankfully, the average price you pay per day will decrease depending on the number of days you visit. For example, a four-day base ticket will cost on average $521 ($130 per day) and allow you to visit all four of the Walt Disney World theme parks during your trip.
How Much Walt Disney World Tickets Cost For 2023
The exact price you pay for your Walt Disney World tickets will depend on various factors including;
- When you’re visiting
- The park you’re visiting
- How long you’re visiting for
- Who is visiting
- Where you purchase your tickets
- Where you’re staying
- Whether you want to park hop
- Where you’re travelling from (Florida resident / UK resident)
These factors can adjust the cost of tickets to Walt Disney World by up to $80 per person, per day and therefore have a significant impact on the overall cost of your Walt Disney World vacation.
Are Walt Disney World Tickets Cheaper At Certain Times Of The Year?
There are two timing factors you’ll want to consider when purchasing your tickets to Walt Disney World. Firstly, the best time to buy Disney tickets and second, the best time to visit Disney.
Typically, holiday seasons such as Spring Break, the 4th of July, Thanksgiving and Christmas are the busiest times at Walt Disney World and therefore tickets to visit the park during these times are the most expensive.
However, Thanksgiving and Christmas can often be the perfect time to purchase tickets to Walt Disney World with many authorised third-party sellers offering exclusive discounts at this time of the year.
For example, a one-day adult ticket to Magic Kingdom in May 2023 costs around $139. However, in July 2023 that increases to $150.
Of course, this isn’t just specific to certain weeks or months as even the specific day of your visit can impact the price with weekdays often being cheaper than weekends and it’s not only in park tickets where these prices will be reflected.
Typically you’ll find that both flights and accommodation during the off-peak season are more affordable.
As such if you’re looking to visit Walt Disney World on a budget we highly recommend considering when you visit.
Keep in mind that you will still need to make a theme park reservation in addition to purchasing your tickets. Therefore it's highly important you check theme park availability before committing to visiting the Walt Disney World Resort on a selected date(s).
Does The Park You Visit Impact The Cost Of A Ticket To Walt Disney World?
On December 8th 2022, ticket prices to Walt Disney World increased.
However, in a change to previous years, this price hike also included a change to the pricing structure with the cost of entering each of the different theme parks being different based on the park’s demand and popularity.
Magic Kingdom Park: $124 – $189
Disney’s Animal Kingdom: $109 – $159
Disney’s Hollywood Studios: $124 – $179
EPCOT: $114 – $179
Since you are purchasing a single-day ticket to a specific park, you will no longer have to make a park reservation for that day.
Although park reservations are still required for all other ticket types.
Should You Visit One Park Over Another Given The Price Difference?
The purpose of Walt Disney World creating a tiered price structure based on the theme parks is down to the demand Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios are experiencing when compared to Animal Kingdom and EPCOT.
This is increasingly the case since Hollywood Studios now features Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.
Therefore given the price difference, it may be tempting to only visit Animal Kingdom and EPCOT and skip Hollywood Studios and / or Magic Kingdom.
However, personally, we would advise against this – especially in the case of Magic Kingdom.
For us, Magic Kingdom is Walt Disney World, and Walt Disney World is Magic Kingdom, as such a trip to the Walt Disney World Resort isn’t complete without visiting this theme park.
How Much Do Multi-Day Tickets To Walt Disney World Cost In 2023?
The Walt Disney World Resort is home to four theme parks and two water parks. As such it’s incredibly common for guests to look to purchase a multi-day ticket which allows them to visit the theme parks for a number of days.
Muti-day tickets for Walt Disney World in 2023 cost on average;
- 2-Day Tickets: $226.13 – $329.86
- 3-Day Tickets: $341.28 – $476.11
- 4-Day Tickets: $447.70 – $596.74
The range listed above is due to the same factors that influence the varying cost of a one-day park ticket (the time of year you visit, where you book etc.)
Although the cost of a multi-day ticket is more expensive overall, the cost per day is typically lower which makes multi-day tickets the best value for money.
Adding More Days To Your Walt Disney World Ticket
It’s often easy to be relatively reserved when planning a trip to Walt Disney World (especially if it’s your first trip and you’ve no idea what to expect).
However, once you arrive you may find that either the magic or reality takes over and you’re in a situation where spending extra time at the Walt Disney World Resort makes sense.
Thankfully, upgrading your tickets during your trip to the Walt Disney World Resort is very much possible.
Tickets can be modified using the My Disney Experience app (or website if you’ve got access to a laptop or computer).
Alternatively, if you’d rather speak to someone directly about your upgrade options you can visit either Guest Relations in person or call the Disney Reservation Center.
How Much Do Children’s Tickets Cost To Walt Disney World?
Children under the age of three are able to enter the Walt Disney World theme parks for free with a ticketed adult.
No ticket is required for children under the age of three in advance, instead just arrive at the park gates as normal.
If your child is over the age of two, we recommend bringing a form of age identification with you in case you’re asked to provide it.
Currently, our little boy is only 14 months and therefore we’ve yet to be questioned when entering the parks.
For children between the ages of 3 and 10, there are children’s tickets to the Walt Disney World theme parks.
These tickets are on average $10 cheaper per day than the adult tickets and again fluctuate depending on the ticket type you purchase.
Is Walt Disney World The Cheapest Place To Buy Walt Disney World Tickets?
The number of places in which you can purchase tickets to Walt Disney World can make things all the more confusing.
However, we think buying your tickets direct from the Walt Disney World website is the best way since it provides you with a level of convenience and reassurance (unless you’re based in the UK).
While promotions from third-party companies can sometimes make tickets to the Walt Disney World Resort $5 to $20 cheaper we believe that the hassle, especially for first-time visitors is often not worthwhile.
Can You Get Cheaper Walt Disney World Tickets By Staying On-Site At The Walt Disney World Resort?
During selected promotional periods Walt Disney World can sometimes offer a promotional offer for guests looking to book a Disney vacation package.
These promotional offers are particularly common during the off-peak season, however, they will require you to stay in a hotel on-site at the Walt Disney World Resort.
The cost of staying on-site is often 20% to 50% more than a similarly rated hotel in the nearby regions of International Drive or Kissimmee.
This often doesn’t make the trade-off of savings vs convenience worth it for those travelling on a budget.
How Much Do Park Hopper Tickets Cost For Walt Disney World 2023?
With a park hopper ticket, you’re able to move between parks (currently after 2pm). This could mean you start out your day at EPCOT but move to Magic Kingdom in the late afternoon.
Park hopping is not specific to any park and doesn’t require a park reservation (you only need a park reservation for the original park you’re looking to visit that day).
That all being said, upgrading your Walt Disney World ticket to a park hopper comes at a price.
These prices are;
- 3-Day Tickets: $416.37 – $555.88
- 4-Day Tickets: $540.89 – $687.27
- 5-Day Tickets: $572.47 – $739.92
Again these price ranges are based on the other factors that impact the overall cost of a Walt Disney World ticket (such as the time of year you visit etc.)
Park hopping provides a lot of flexibility for guests visiting the Walt Disney World Resort which in our opinion makes it a worthwhile extra cost for most visitors.
Park Hopper Plus Tickets
Park Hopper Plus is an add-on to the regular Park Hopper ticket at Walt Disney World. It allows guests to visit multiple theme parks in one day, plus enjoy a certain number of visits to other attractions.
These include;
- Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park
- Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park
- Disney’s Oak Trail Golf Course
- ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex
- Disney’s Fantasia Gardens Miniature Golf Course
- Disney’s Winter Summerland Miniature Golf Course
- Disney’s Fantasia Fairways Miniature Golf Course
Park Hopper Plus tickets are more expensive than traditional Park Hopper tickets and much like all Disney tickets the exact cost will depend on the time of year you visit and the number of days you visit for.
Typically, the additional cost is around $20 per day. However, this upgrade has to be applied to the entirety of your ticket.
As such if you’re only planning on going to the water park or golf course once during your trip then it may be worth looking to purchase admission for this separately from your theme park admission ticket.
Upgrading To A Park Hopper Ticket During Your Trip
It’s often easy to be relatively reserved when planning a trip to Walt Disney World (especially if it’s your first trip and you’ve no idea what to expect).
However, once you arrive you may find that either the magic or reality takes over and you’re in a situation where adding on the park hopper option may have been a very good decision.

Currently, the Walt Disney World annual pass sales are suspended and are only available for those looking to renew.
However, in anticipation of their return in the coming months, Walt Disney World has released an updated (and more expensive) price list that would likely be fixed for the 2023 season;
- Incredi-Pass: $1399
- Sorcerer Pass: $969
- Pirate Pass: $749
- Pixie Pass: $399
The Pixie Pass and Pirate Pass are only available to Florida residents, while the Sorcerer Pass is only available to either Florida residents or DVC members.
