How to Get From Melbourne Orlando Airport (MLB) to Walt Disney World

Melbourne Airport, Florida, serves domestic flights and flights from the UK with TUI. It’s 75 miles from Melbourne Airport to Walt Disney World, and the journey takes around 80 minutes.

There are three ways you can travel from Melbourne Airport to the Walt Disney World Resort:

  1. Taxi (inc Uber and Lyft)
  2. Hire Car
  3. Private Transfer

Uber or Lyft is the easiest way to travel from Melbourne Airport to Walt Disney World. However, a hire car may be more convenient if you plan to explore more of Orlando and the surrounding areas.

Taxi (inc Uber & Lyft)

There are three types of taxis you can take from Melbourne Airport to Walt Disney World:

  1. Traditional taxi cab
  2. Uber
  3. Lyft

A traditional taxi cab is excellent if you want to get in the car and go. However, the cost will be slightly higher when compared to Uber and Lyft.

From Melbourne Airport to Walt Disney World, an Uber will cost between $100 and $140. However, both Uber and Lyft work on a dynamic pricing model. As such, the exact price you pay will depend on several factors, including:

  • Vehicle Type
  • Driver Availability
  • Driver Demand
  • Trip Duration

A dynamic pricing model means the same journey can have a different price. As such, check Uber and Lyft and compare the prices in real-time.

You can get a taxi from the taxi rank outside Melbourne Orlando Airport terminal. There’s also a dedicated pick-up and drop-off point here for Uber and Lyft.

Unlike other airports in Florida, Melbourne is small and quiet. As such, you should be able to find your driver easily. That being said, it’s essential you don’t order your Lyft or Uber until you’ve passed immigration and collected your luggage.

Uber and Lyft drivers will typically arrive within 10 minutes of being ordered. Once the driver arrives, they will only wait 5 minutes for you to come to the car. Any longer, and they will leave, and you will be charged.

If you have booked a package holiday to Orlando with TUI, free coach travel is often included.

The coach will pick you up at Melbourne Airport and then take you to your hotel at Walt Disney World. However, you will drop other passengers off in and around Orlando during your trip. As such, the journey can often be 2 hours rather than the standard 80 minutes.

If free coach transfers are included with your holiday, you must report to the TUI reps on arrival. The TUI reps will be outside the arrivals terminal at Melbourne Airport. They’ll provide all the necessary information and direct you to your coach.
