Are you looking to travel from Tokyo Station to Disneyland or DisneySea? In this article, we’ll look at the different methods of travelling between these two destinations in order to find the best solution for your trip.
It’s just over 14km between Tokyo Station and Disneyland Tokyo which is situated out in the Maihama region of the city. Alongside the relatively close proximity of Tokyo Station and Disneyland, the fact that Tokyo Disneyland is on a metro line makes getting to and from the city to the parks a rather simple process. As we spent three days at the two Tokyo Disney parks we chose to stay at the FlexStay Inn near Maihama so we could walk or take the shuttle bus directly to the parks.
The quickest, easiest and most affordable way to travel between Disney Sea and Tokyo Station in central Tokyo is on the metro. No changes are required, as you can take the Keiyo Line direct.
A journey on the Metro will take around 16 minutes and stop at six other stations before reaching Maihama Station where you’ll be able to get off and enter the Tokyo Disney Resort. As the metro on this line runs every 6 minutes, even if you miss the train you’re better off waiting for the next one rather than looking for another train that might be suitable for your journey.
From here you’ll be able to either walk or get the Disney metro to the park of your choice.
A one-way ticket between Tokyo Station and Maihama Station costs ?220 at the time of writing.
Another way in which you can travel between Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo central station is via a taxi. We personally never took a taxi during our trip to Japan, however, it might be suitable for some situations.
The journey should take between 20 and 30 minutes depending on the traffic. Some routes will pass through tolls that you’ll be required to pay for on top of the standard fare of the taxi.
