As with all theme parks, the cost of food and drink at Legoland Windsor is expensive – there’s simply no way to sugarcoat it. Having visited Legoland for several years, we’ve become accustomed to the food options available inside the theme park and the associated cost.

Subsequently, we can plan and budget for our trip to Legoland accordingly and want to help you do the same.

The cost of food inside Legoland Windsor is around £13.00 for a meal (such as fish and chips) or £18.50 for an all-you-can-eat buffet. Drinks typically cost between £2.50 – £5.00 while ice creams and sweets cost between £3.00 – £8.00.

Sadly, the quality, theming and range of food available inside of Legoland Windsor is limited and the number of seats available at food locations is incredibly frustrating.

Most restaurants at the theme park don’t open until midday, which combined with the limited amount of seating makes it nearly impossible to avoid the lunchtime rush and therefore makes it all the more important to plan accordingly.

How Much Does Food Cost At Legoland Windsor

Unsurprisingly, the cost of food and drink at Legoland varies depending on what you’re looking for. Here are some example prices you’ll find across multiple places within the theme park;

All prices are correct as of our latest visit to Legoland Windsor, September 2023.

While the Pizza and Pasta all-you-can-eat buffet in Heartlake City is the most expensive place to eat, it’s also the best for seating and children under the age of 5 can eat for free, making it a good choice for families with young children.

Legoland Windsor is now cashless, so all payments will need to be made using a credit or debit card, Apple Pay, or Android Pay.

What Restaurants Are At Legoland Windsor

There are four restaurants inside the Legoland Windsor theme park;

  • City Walk Pizza & Pasta
  • Pirate’s Burger Kitchen
  • Farmer Joe’s Chicken Company
  • Hungry Troll

Alongside this, there are several food stands such as Marina Hot Dogs and Legoland Coffee Co that are good for picking up casual bites to eat.

The only place we can find to purchase food before midday is either Marina Hot Dogs, Me Hearty Hot Dogs, Legoland Coffee Co. or City Walk Pizza & Pasta. As such avoiding the lunchtime rush can be near impossible.

However, while you may be able to purchase food, finding somewhere to sit and eat it can be incredibly difficult, even when dining at a restaurant. For example, at Farmer Joe’s Chicken Company in Duplo Valley, there are roughly 20 tables inside and a further 12 outside.

This means that within 20 minutes of this restaurant opening, you’re typically already queuing to find a table with your tray of food. Leaving many guests to go out and eat at the adjacent Duplo Valley Theatre. However, this too can be difficult during showtimes.

This is at a restaurant. Therefore, as you can expect when purchasing from a casual food stall such as Me Hearty Hot Dogs (opposite Pirate Falls Treasure Quest – one of the best rides at Legoland Windsor) or Legoland Coffee Co. you’re often left eating food stood up, while walking or while randomly sitting on the floor in a corner somewhere.

For example, at Marina Hot Dogs a simple hot dog and drink costs £8.75, which makes it a great place to eat in Legoland on a budget. Sadly, however, there are no picnic benches in the vicinity of this food stand and certainly nowhere to sit and eat indoors.

Instead, if you want to sit down to enjoy your hot dog from here you’ll need to do so on one of the benches at the side of the Ben and Jerry’s stand or at the viewing area for the Return to Skeleton Bay show.

This is fine if the Return to Skeleton Bay show isn’t on or isn’t due to start in the next 30 minutes or so. However, typically the shows run once an hour from midday until 3.00pm and last 30 minutes, at which point you’ll often find that it’s hard to find a seat or even at times walk around this area of the theme park.

Therefore in our experience the Pizza and Pasta all-you-can-eat buffet in Heartlake City is the best place to eat if you’re looking to guarantee a seat at a table. However, it’s also the most expensive place to eat too.

During our latest visit (September 2023) the Pizza and Pasta buffet cost £18.50 for adults and £12.00 for children and included unlimited salad, pizza, pasta, garlic bread and soft drinks.

However, children under the age of 5 can eat at the Legoland Pizza and Pasta buffet for free, making it a great choice for families with young children. This restaurant has the potential to be incredible, however, it lacks lighting, organisation and theming with the food being mediocre at best.

Legoland Hotel Restaurants

Legoland Windsor has two on-site hotels; Legoland Resort Hotel and Legoland Castle Hotel each of which has at least one restaurant.

Legoland Resort Hotel

The Legoland Resort Hotel has two restaurants for guests to dine in during a trip to Legoland. The first is BRICKS which serves breakfast and dinner.

BRICKS serves breakfast from 7:00am until 10:30am which is complimentary with a stay at the Legoland Resort Hotel.

Meanwhile, dinner is served from 5:00pm until 8:30pm and consists of three courses with a choice of starters, mains and desserts. An adult three-course meal at BRICKS currently costs £27.99, a child’s is £22.99 and under 3s eat free.

The second restaurant inside the Legoland Resort Hotel is the Skyline Bar. This restaurant serves a range of pizzas, burgers, salads and drinks in a more casual setting.

Legoland Castle Hotel

Unlike the Legoland Resort Hotel, there is just one restaurant inside the Legoland Castle Hotel and that’s Tournament Tavern.

This restaurant is designed to bring together LEGO’s core values of fun, creativity and imagination in a sensational seasonal menu flourished with gorgeous gastronomy and special surprises.

Two courses from the adult’s menu here are currently £31.50, while three courses are £35.50. While this is significantly more than the BRICKS restaurant over at the Legoland Resort Hotel, the quality of the food and service here is in our experience worth the added expense.

Legoland Refillable Cups

If you would like to enjoy unlimited Coca-Cola drinks throughout your day at Legoland Windsor then you can purchase a refillable Coca-Cola Freestyle cup from several locations around the theme park.

These cups currently cost £16 for one, £14 each for two or £12 each for three or more and can be “recharged” on your next visit to Legoland for just £6.

Annual pass discounts do not work on the purchase of a Legoland refillable cup.

With the purchase of a Legoland Coca-Cola Freestyle cup, you can have unlimited drinks from any of the Coca-Cola Freestyle machines throughout the theme park with each machine offering over 100+ drink combinations to choose from.

The Coca-Cola Freestyle machines work by detecting the RFID chip inside your refillable cup. Once the RFID chip is seen to be active, the machine will allow you to select from one of the many drink options available.

In some cases, the RFID chip fails. As a result, I always recommend obtaining a receipt for either your refillable cup purchase or reactivation so you’re able to get the cup replaced should this happen.

Regular bottled drinks from stands within Legoland cost between £2.85 and £3.05 each which means that you’d need to purchase roughly 6 drinks in a single day to get the equivalent value from the refillable cup.

Subsequently, the only time I’ve found the Legoland refillable cup to be a worthwhile investment is if you regularly visit Legoland Windsor and therefore can benefit from the discounted “recharge” of £6 per day on future visits which is only the equivalent of roughly 2 bottled drinks purchased within the park.

Frequently Asked Questions

Have you still got questions about Legoland food prices? Here are some of the most frequently asked questions first-time visitors have.

Can You Bring Food & Drink To Legoland Windsor?

You are allowed to bring food and drink into Legoland Windsor provided that they meet the safety and security requirements. This includes no alcohol and no glass bottles.

Cooler boxes are permitted into Legoland and there are currently no size restrictions.

However, the lockers inside Legoland are relatively small so you’ll need to either walk around with the cooler box or leave it in the car until lunch, at which point you could obtain a handstamp when leaving the theme park and re-enter – which personally I find to be a lot of messing about.

Are There Picnic Areas At Legoland Windsor?

There is a small designated picnic area at Legoland Windsor on the hill near where Viking River Splash used to be.

However, this area has no shelter and no picnic benches. It’s just a patch of grass with a sign that says ‘Picnic Area’. Of course, you are welcome to eat a picnic in other areas of the theme park, however, eating areas both indoors and outdoors are rather limited.

Does Legoland Windsor Accommodate Dietary Requirements?

Legoland Windsor restaurants and food outlets can accommodate the vast majority of dietary requirements and provide allergen information when / where it’s required.

All the food at Legoland Windsor is well labelled, however, if you’re unsure you can ask to speak to one of the Allergen Champions inside each of the Legoland restaurants who will be able to assist you further.

Do You Have To Reserve Legoland Restaurants In Advance?

Sadly, you can not reserve any of the restaurants in Legoland Windsor in advance. Instead, all restaurants are on a ‘walk up’ basis only.

This means that you may find yourself queuing for food at Legoland during peak times.

Can You Refill Water Bottles At Legoland Windsor?

One of the best tips for Legoland Windsor I can give is to bring a water bottle.

You can refill water bottles at Legoland Windsor at any of the designated water fountains throughout the theme park or at any of the Coca-Cola Freestyle machines.

Can You Get Beer At Legoland Windsor?

Alcohol at Legoland Windsor is only sold inside the two Legoland Hotels and at the Pizza and Pasta buffet (as an upgrade when purchasing your meal).

Any alcohol purchased at Legoland must be consumed in the same location. Meaning that you’re unable to walk around the park drinking alcohol.

Legoland is also not permitted to be brought into the Legoland Windsor theme park. Bags are searched during entry to the theme park and those found with alcohol will be asked to return it to their vehicle or have it confiscated by the security staff.
