Maspalomas, Gran Canaria is home to one of the most fabulous pride events in Europe attracting tens of thousands of LGBTQ+ people annually.
The Maspalomas / Playa De Ingles region of Gran Canaria is a very popular gay destination year-round thanks to its incredible beaches, long sunny days (even in winter) and LGBTQ+ friendly bars & clubs.
However, if you’re a member of the LGBTQ+ community looking for the best time to visit Gran Canaria, then pride season is definitely it!
When Is Maspalomas Pride?
There are two pride events in Maspalomas annually;
- Summer Pride: 4th – 14th May 2023

While both pride events are incredible, it’s the Winter Pride event in Maspalomas that often attracts a higher number of visitors.

While there are various events across Maspalomas and Playa De Ingles during pride the majority are held at the Yumbo Centrum in Playa De Ingles.
The Yumbo Centrum is home to a number of;

What Events / Themes Are At Maspalomas Pride
You’ll find the full programme of activities for Maspalomas Pride on the ‘Pride By Freedom’ mobile app (available on Google Play and Apple App Store).
While nightly themes for Pride are shown on the mobile app, they aren’t followed extensively so feel free to come as you are.
While there is plenty of free entertainment in the evenings, many official daytime events (pool parties, boat parties etc.) are held at hotels and subsequently require a ticket. Tickets for all official daytime events can be purchased via the ‘Pride By Freedom’ mobile app.
Where To Stay For Maspalomas Pride?
Maspalomas Prides evening entertainment is at the Yumbo Centrum in Playa De Ingles. Subsequently, the best place to stay in Gran Canaria is within a ten-minute walk of the complex.
There is a wide range of apartment and hotel complexes in the area, ranging from budget-friendly to luxury, as well as a number of adults-only and gay-men-only options too.
While staying at a hotel just outside of the Yumbo may seem like a solid choice, the entertainment goes on until 4:00am most nights, therefore you may be kept awake if you’re back at your room before then and looking for a good night’s sleep.
Do Women & Non-Binary People Go To Maspalomas Pride?
Maspalomas Pride is typically made up of around 75% men and 25% women and non-binary. While the event as a whole is inclusive to all genders and identities, there are some bars (the cruising bars for example) and events that are men-only.
