Miami is one of the most popular vacation spots in the world and it’s easy to see why. Boasting beautiful beaches, a world-renowned nightlife scene, and plenty of incredible dining locations, there’s something for everyone here.
We recently spent an amazing four nights in the city (which, spoiler alert, definitely wasn’t long enough), and found so many things to see and do here as a couple.
1. Enjoy A Sunset Cruise Through Biscayne Bay
There’s nothing more romantic than enjoying a cruise together while on vacation. Luckily, Miami has plenty of epic sunset cruises, all for a very affordable price too.
This sunset cruise offers stunning views of Biscayne Bay and you’ll get to appreciate the city’s skyline as the sun goes down. Along the way, you’ll pass by Star Island, South Beach, and Al Capone’s mansion. Not to mention, there’s an onboard bar if you’re after some refreshments.
2. Head To An Outdoor Cinema
There aren’t many date nights that can rival your first experience of an outdoor cinema. This retro-style experience offers the chance for you and your partner to cosy up with snacks, and enjoy a film together.
Rooftop Cinema Club is located in Miami Beach and is a popular option. You’ve also got Soundscape Cinema, and ArtsPark at Young Circle which offer movie nights on Fridays. If you’re after a more old-school experience, then check out Nite Owl Drive-In which is a drive-in outdoor cinema.
3. Grab A Milkshake At Miami’s Famous Milkshake Bars
You’ll find plenty of fun date ideas in this guide, but checking out some of the milkshake bars in Miami definitely has to be on your list.
Not only will you get to satisfy your sweet tooth, but you’ll get to spend some quality time together. Popular options include The Market Milkshake Bar and Icy-N-Spicy. However, The Sugar Factory has to be one of the best places to grab a milkshake. Especially since this restaurant is super Instagrammable.
4. Visit The Van Gogh Immersive Experience
The Van Gogh Immersive Experience is another great place to include on your Miami itinerary. It’s a spectacular exhibit that’s spread over 20,000 sq feet and features two-story projections of Van Gogh’s work.
Situated close to the popular Bayside Marketplace. This experience features immersive lights, unique sounds, and an endless array of colours that transport you into another world.
5. Take An Airboat Tour Around Everglades National Park
Situated a 50-minute drive from Miami, Everglades National Park is the perfect place to visit if you’re looking for an adventure. This is the largest subtropical wilderness in the United States and is home to several rare wildlife species including American crocodiles, manatees, and Florida panthers
In our experience, the best way to experience the Everglades National Park is on an airboat tour with an experienced guide. However, these tours book up quickly during the peak season, as such it’s highly recommended that you book in advance.
6. Relax At Miami Beach
During our most recent visit to Miami, we stayed in Miami Beach. This island is connected to the mainland via a number of bridges and is famous for its world-class beaches and incredible beach bars.
There are three neighbourhoods here; North Beach, Mid Beach, and South Beach. In our experience, South Beach is the most popular and has the most to offer, including a luxury beach-front hotel with private cabanas and a number of sun loungers with bar service.
7. Wander Through Bayside Marketplace
If you and your other half are after a relaxing activity, then head to Bayside Marketplace. Located in Downtown Miami, this area is home to endless shops, restaurants, and attractions.
Whether you’re looking to shop ‘til you drop’ or you’re simply after some delicious food, you don’t want to miss out on this place. If you’re travelling to Miami with children, then consider heading to Dino Safari. This interactive experience offers a thrilling journey back in time, where children can learn about various dinosaurs in an immersive and fun way.
8. Try Escape An Escape Room
Escape rooms are the perfect evening or rainy day activity for couples or groups of friends. During your visit, you’ll be required to work together to solve the clues and challenges in order to break free from the room before the timer runs out.
Escape Hunt is one of the most popular venues and they have several room challenges to choose from. There’s also ‘Fox in a Box’ which has some quirky escape rooms such as ‘Abandoned Zombie Lab’, ‘Zodiac Serial Killer’, and ‘Nuclear Bunker’.
9. Head Out On A Miami City Cruise
If you’re looking to enjoy Miami from the water then consider heading out on a Miami city cruise. This Miami City Cruise is our personal favourite and is run by Miami Boat Cruises.
During your time onboard you’ll go will take you along Biscayne Bay and visit popular locations including; the Venetian Islands, Star Island, South Beach, and the Port of Miami. The cruise will also take you past some of the city’s millionaire homes.
10. Enjoy A Glass of Wine At Schnebly Redland’s Winery
In our opinion, one of the most romantic things to do in Miami is a trip to Schnebly Redland’s Winery. This is the Southernmost winery in the U.S. and is famous for its exotic and tropical wines.
Not only is the setting of this winery beautiful, but there are plenty of experiences to be had here. You can opt for a wine or beer tasting, a walking tour, or a beer flight, so there’s something for everyone. There’s also a fantastic restaurant on-site where you can sample delicious local cuisine.
11. Visit A Speakeasy
If you’re looking for a romantic experience, then consider heading to one of the incredible speakeasies located within the city.
Miami Sound Bar is one of our personal favourite choices as it offers a relaxed atmosphere and intimate space. However, there’s also, the more glitzy La Yolanda Mezcaleria Bar, and Swizzle Rum Bar & Drinkery.
12. Create Unique Crafts Together At Pinspiration
At Pinspiration Davie Craft Studio, you and your other half can take part in a variety of awesome activities. Firstly, there are several craft projects available if you’re looking to make something together.
This craft studio also offers candle-making workshops and the Splatter Room, with the latter offering a fun and really quirky way to make a piece of art. If you’re after a unique experience for couples in Miami then add this place to your itinerary.
13. Take A Private Flight Tour
For those who aren’t afraid of heights, there’s nothing more romantic than taking a private flight tour of Miami. You’ll get to spend some quality time together and admire the vistas.
This private flight tour lasts for 30 minutes and will offer you a birds-eye view of Miami. You’ll get to learn all about the area from your pilot and see the city lights twinkling below you. Private helicopter tours are also available too if you’d prefer.
14. Enjoy Wynwood Walls
Why not take a romantic stroll together and appreciate the Wynwood Walls. This ‘street museum’ is home to 35,000 sq feet of graffiti murals, so there’s a lot to see within a relatively small area.
These murals represent over 100 artists and each one is colourful and unique. While in the city, you’ll want to wander around Wynwood Walls and take some selfies together, so you can remember this epic place. You’ll also find several great art galleries in the area.
15. Relax At A Rooftop Bar
If you’re after romantic things to do in Miami then you’ll want to visit one or two of the city’s rooftop bars. From here, you can both appreciate the views, create memories, and reminisce about your day.
Rosa Sky is one of the best rooftop bars in Miami and is famous for its panoramic views, delicious tapas, and hand-crafted cocktails. Other popular rooftop bars in the city include Sugar, Watr at the 1 Rooftop, ASTRA, and Copal.
16. Walk Around Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden
Visiting Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden is one of the best things to do in Miami, especially for couples. Here, you can take a leisurely stroll together and just chat the afternoon away.
Covering an impressive 83 acres, these botanical gardens are home to a variety of tropical plants, aquatic exhibits, and a butterfly garden, among other features. While here, make sure you admire the views from Allée and Overlook, and visit the Gate House Museum.
17. Take A Day Trip To Key West
If you don’t mind taking a day trip out of the city then head to Key West. This place is known for its white sandy beaches, watersports, and for being the Southernmost point in the continental U.S.

Juvia Miami, Lagniappe House, and La Mar are other great options.
19. Wander Around Bayfront Park
As the name suggests Bayfront Park offers stunning views of Biscayne Bay, making it the perfect place for a stroll together.
The park covers 32 acres and is home to a sandy beach area, a tropical rock garden, and a waterfall, among other things. As such, it’s the ideal spot for a romantic picnic too as there’s plenty of open space here. As you wander around the park, just take your time so you can take it all in.
20. Enjoy Some Jazz At The Corner
The Corner is located in Park West Downtown, one of Miami’s oldest neighbourhoods. Here, you can enjoy speciality cocktails, craft beers, and delicious food.
Not only that, but The Corner is the perfect place to visit if you’re after Jazz music. Tuesday is typically the night for this, so head along and have some fun with your partner. Boasting a fantastic atmosphere, friendly staff, and an extensive drinks menu, this establishment has so much to offer.

Little Havana is one of the best neighbourhoods in Miami thanks to its awesome atmosphere, vibrant culture, and Latin American cuisine. With so many tasty dishes and awesome restaurants to choose from, this is the perfect place to take a food tour.

Although a rather unique attraction, the World Erotic Museum is another great place to visit as a couple. Here, you’ll find a collection of erotic art pieces and books, and some of them are rather entertaining.

Although parasailing may not seem like one of the most romantic things to do in Miami, it will offer you and your significant other unforgettable memories. This parasailing experience takes place in Biscayne Bay and you can do the activity at the same time.
You’ll get to enjoy breathtaking views of the city, and you’ll likely be pushing each other out of your comfort zone – a must for any relationship. The activity lasts for an hour and you’ll have an experienced captain and parasailing instructors.
30. Enjoy A Date Night At Jaguar Restaurant
Jaguar is one of the best restaurants in Miami thanks to its funky decor which is based on the animal in question, and it offers delicious Latin American dishes. If you’re after the perfect date night, then you can enjoy mouthwatering dishes and signature cocktails here.

For those looking to sing the night away together why not head to a karaoke bar? Not only will you have a fantastic time, but you’ll create memories that will stay with you forever.
Sweet Caroline Karaoke Bar is one of the most popular options, with over 300,000 songs in its library. Not to mention, this bar has a fantastic cocktail list and they offer Happy Hour. Other popular options for karaoke include Jada Coles, Gramps, and Better Days.

Here you’ll find a mirror maze, colourful digital visuals, and Pulse Topology – an installation consisting of 3,000 light bulbs that can glimmer to the sound of your heartbeat. To ensure your spot, you can book your ticket in advance. You’ll want to do this, as tickets can sell out really quickly.
38. Grab A Drink At The Rusty Pelican
The Rusty Pelican is one of the most popular spots in Miami and it’s not hard to see why. It’s an upscale waterfront lounge and restaurant that offers breathtaking views of the city skyline, especially in the evening.

Shark Valley is located in the Everglades and is home to a 15-mile loop paved trail. At the end of this loop, there’s an observation tower which offers panoramic views of the surrounding marshes.

46. Spend The Day At Miami Zoo
Miami Zoo covers an impressive 750 acres and is home to over 2,500 animals. Some of the most popular species include elephants, lions, gorillas, jaguars, and tigers.
There are plenty of awesome exhibits to visit here, and the zoo also plays an important role in animal conservation. 49. Visit Flamingo Gardens In Fort Lauderdale
If you don’t mind heading out of the city, then make sure you visit Flamingo Gardens. It’s a wildlife and botanical sanctuary that’s located in Fort Lauderdale, which is just a 35-minute drive from the city centre.
Flamingo Gardens covers an impressive 60 acres and is home to over 3,000 plants, and animals that have been injured and are unable to return to the wild. You can purchase your entrance tickets in advance if you wish.
50. Go Snorkelling
Finally, if you’re after a fun activity to do as a couple then make sure you go snorkelling. Florida is home to some of the clearest waters in the United States, and you’ll find a variety of marine life here.
Some of the species you can spot include manatees, turtles, stingrays, and nurse sharks. There are plenty of places where you can snorkel, but Biscayne National Park is one of the most popular as it’s made up of 95% water.
