What Is CityWalk At Universal Studios Orlando

While you may be familiar with Universal Studios, Walt Disney World and even Disney Springs you may be new to CityWalk.

CityWalk is a shopping district located on the entrance of Universal Studios and is the shopping district in which you walk through to get to the entrance to Universal Studios and Island Of Adventure. There are restaurants and shops at CityWalk and is free to enter.

Much like Disney Springs is to Walt Disney World, CityWalk is the Universal Studios equivalent. It is the area in which most guests will walk through to get to Universal Studios along with walk back through to leave the Universal Studios Property.

Is CityWalk Pet Friendly?

Unfortunately, pets other than service dogs are not permitted within the parks or within the area of CityWalk.

However, there are many areas, walkways and hotels that permit pets and very accommodating to them. You are more than welcome to bring your pet with you to one of the pet-friendly hotels and use the dedicated areas for walking and exercise.

Pets are not permitted within CityWalk grounds and may be asked to leave. If you have service animals or guide dogs they are permitted by law.

Where To Park At CityWalk

Due to the parking for Universal Studios and CityWalk being the same there is plenty of parking available. There is only one area that is shared between the theme parks and CityWalk itself.

To access parking for CityWalk you can follow the signs for Universal Studios and CityWalk parking. You can then choose from self-parking, valet parking or prime parking.

The parking garages are located at the back of CityWalk and so once you have parked up you will make your way either in the lift to stairs to CityWalk.

From there you can explore CityWalk or head through to the front of CityWalk and onwards towards Universal Studios and Islands Of Adventure.

Do You Need Park Tickets For CityWalk?

CityWalk is a free and open space and requires no ticket or entry fee. Anyone, whether they are going to Universal Studios Orlando or not, can visit CityWalk. CityWalk is open to any guest whether visiting the area or is local.

Is It Free To Visit?

CityWalk is completely free to enter and is open to anyone wishing to visit. The only parts of CityWalk that are not free is the parking if you plan to drive and any food, entertainment and shopping you chose to do.

Can You Get Butterbeer At CityWalk?

Unfortunately, you can only get butterbeer within the ground of the parks, more exclusively within the areas of Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley.

Butterbeer is restricted to within the Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure parks themselves.

How Late Is CityWalk Orlando Open?

Universal’s CityWalk is open until 10 pm daily allowing guests and visitors to experience the nightlife and attractions there is on offer.

There are many restaurants, shows and shops that will stay open until 10 pm to suit many of the guests still browsing before they head home.

To avoid disappointment look at booking your restaurants, attractions and shows ahead of time so you don’t miss out or have to wait too long to be seated.

What Restaurants Are At CityWalk Orlando?

There are a whole host of amazing restaurants at CityWalk and even bars to enjoy a drink after dinner.

Along with amazing places to eat inside the parts there are some of the most loved restaurants and cafes located at Universal’s CityWalk.

In some of these places, you can use mobile ordering to place your order and pick it up. If you are wanting to make a reservation you can do this through the Universal Studios App or at guest services.

If you are staying on-site you can get special bonuses and front row seats or special seating at some of the top restaurants at CityWalk.

You can also book your restaurants at your on-site hotel so you can just turn up in the evening and not have to worry.

I would always advise booking, especially in peak season as this can get extremely busy and you may end up waiting a long time or eating somewhere else than you planned.

What Is There To Do At CityWalk Orlando?

CityWalk is more than just a place to go and have dinner after a long day, it is like another park in itself. While there are no thrill rides and characters to meet there is still plenty to do.

Depending on whether you are visiting as a family or just adults will depend on what you want to do at CityWalk. If you are just looking to enjoy the evening you might want to head for a nice dinner, head to a bar for a drink, sing karaoke or catch a movie.

If you are visiting as a family with younger children you can do a spot of shopping, watch a movie, play mini-golf or go see a live show such as the Blue Man Group.

Is CityWalk Parking Free After 6?

If you have been at the parks all day you may have already paid for parking but if you are looking to just visit CityWalk in the evening you can get parking for free after 6pm.

This only applies to self-parking for all guests and does not apply to valet or prime parking and is not valid for Halloween Horror Nights. The parking garage is open until 2 am.

What Stores Are At Universal CityWalk Orlando?

Shopping is one of our favourite things to do at CityWalk Orlando, mainly because it has super fun and unique stores.

This is really fun to do on your way out of Universal Studios and passing CityWalk or before you head to a restaurant for dinner.

You can find cool and unique items that are great to buy to take home, buy as souvenirs or to put away ready for birthdays and Christmas.

We always find something we really like as they often change over or keep fresh products moving through so no matter how often you visit you will see something new.
