Where To Park In Newquay, Cornwall

On our very first visit to Newquay we were driving down and staying for a week so we could explore the local areas and even drive out to some of the surrounding towns such as St Ives and Padstow. What we didn’t know was how difficult it would be to park while we were there.

Due to our b&b not having designated parking we were left using local car parks which was both stressful and difficult to say the least. It wasn’t something we looked forward to as we wanted to go out for the day but after some careful planning we managed to get by and take some of the stress out of it.

In this post, we’ve decided to put together the best places to park in reference to where you’re planning on staying or visiting during your time in the seaside town.

Manor Road Car Park

Address: 24 St Michael’s Rd, Newquay TR7 1RA

Manor Road Car Park is probably one of the most convenient for those looking to park and be able to walk into town. It is centrally located and perfect for day visitors. The car park is a long stay car park and has 246 and is open 24 hours.

Parking is available over night and is free from 4pm until 9am the next day. Parking charges range from £1.40/£1.60 for one hour up to £8.40 for 24 hours. There are changes within the parking charges depending on the time of year you visit.

There are a number of ways you can pay from cash with coins and notes to card payments, apple pay and even through mobile phone, though we struggled with mobile reception so make sure you have a back up in case you struggle.

The car park is open to cars, small vans and motorcycles, though the car park is tight to manouvre and so if you require more space or you are a larger vehicle I would look at one of the others on the list. There is no sleeping or camping permitted within the car park.

Albany Road Car Park

Address: Albany Road, Newquay TR7 2NS

Albany Road car park is a smaller car park located off Tolcarne Road, it has 31 spaces including disabled parking and is easier to access. It has no height restrictions so if you have a tall car or even a van you should be more suited to this car park.

Parking charges range from £1.60 for 1 hour up to £8.40 for 24 hours, parking charges do not apply between the hours of 4pm and 9am. Between the dates of 1st November until 31st March there is no charge for parking. There is no sleeping or camping permitted within the car park.

You can pay by mobile phone or coins at this car park, unfortunately notes and card payments are not accepted.

Atlantic Road Car Park

Atlantic Road car park has 300 or so spaces and is a large grass field, it also has a height restriction of 6ft (1.83m), this may not be suitable for vans or car with roof top boxes on. It is a popular car park for those looking to park up for Fistral Beach as it is a 10 minute walk.

It is also in a great location if you are to park close to the town center and walk in to explore the shops and find a nice cafe. This car park only accepts coins, mobile payments or you can pay through the JustPark App.

Parking charges range from £1.60 for 1 hour up to £8.40 for 24 hours, parking charges do not apply between the hours of 4pm and 9am. Between the dates of 1st November until 31st March there is no charge for parking. There is no sleeping or camping permitted within the car park.

The car park has 94 spaces but the access to and from the car park can be narrow down a street that is residential and often has cars parked on the road side.
