How To Get From Gran Canaria Airport To Playa Del Ingles (Quickest & Cheapest)

Playa Del Ingles is one of the most popular tourist regions in Gran Canaria. You can travel the 29km from Gran Canaria Airport to Playa Del Ingles three ways:

1. Taxi
2. Bus
3. Hire Car

The best way to travel between Gran Canaria Airport and Playa Del Ingles is by taxi. A taxi from Gran Canaria Airport to Playa Del Ingles takes around 20 minutes and costs about €35.

However, if you’re looking to explore more of the island of Gran Canaria, you may want to hire a car instead.

The quickest and easiest way to travel between Playa Del Ingles and Gran Canaria Airport is by taxi. The taxi rank is located outside the airport terminal building and is well-signposted.

Taxis are readily available at the airport, so you shouldn’t need to queue for more than ten minutes. The journey from the airport to Playa Del Ingles will take 20 to 25 minutes, depending on traffic.

Taxis in Gran Canaria run on a meter. Therefore, the price of the journey is based on several factors, such as:

During my most recent trip to Playa Del Ingles (May 2023), a one-way trip from the airport cost me €35.

If you want to explore the island of Gran Canaria, it’s often worth getting a hire car. There are several hire car locations in Playa Del Ingles. However, it’s often cheaper and easier to pick your hire car up at the airport and drive it to Playa Del Ingles.

• Hertz

As such, while you can often pick a car up on your arrival into Gran Canaria, reserving one in advance is often easier.

All car rental companies at Gran Canaria Airport are inside the main terminal building. However, they can have somewhat of a queue – especially during peak travel times. When returning your hire car, arrive at Gran Canaria Airport with plenty of time, as there may be a short wait.

How much you pay for a hire car in Gran Canaria will depend on several factors, including:

During the low season, you may be able to pick up a hire car in Gran Canaria for as little as €5 per day. However, €20 – €40 is often average.
