I have visited Orlando more than ten times in the past decade and so I’ve stayed at, toured, or checked into several of the city’s waterpark hotels. This guide covers every Orlando hotel that has both waterslides and a lazy river, ordered by which one delivers the best experience.

Cora and Oliver in the swimming pool at Loews Miami Beach Hotel

How I ranked these hotels: each hotel was assessed against five criteria, plus my own visit experience where applicable:

  • Lazy river length: measured in feet from the official property listing
  • Total pool and waterslide count: main pools and waterslides accessible to all hotel guests
  • Distance to Walt Disney World and Universal Orlando: driving miles, not “as the crow flies”
  • Star rating: based on AAA Diamond ratings where AAA-listed, otherwise industry-standard
  • Inclusion: must have both a lazy river and at least one waterslide on-site (theme park waterparks like Volcano Bay are excluded)

Last visited February 2026 and fact-checked April 2026.

Methodology: I’ve been to Orlando more than 20 times since 2019 and stayed at several of the hotels on this list. For the rest, I’ve ranked on lazy river length and quality, slide variety, family suite availability, and proximity to the parks. Pool features have to be open year-round and offer something kids will actually use, not just look at.

The Grove is a four-star resort in Winter Garden, around 6 miles from Universal Orlando and 13 miles from Walt Disney World. Its biggest draw is Surfari, the on-site waterpark which the resort is built around.

Surfari has a 695-foot lazy river, dual racing waterslides, and a FlowRider Double surf simulator, which is one of only a few in the United States. There is also a kids’ pool with a splash pad and a zero-entry main pool with cabanas to rent.

Entry to Surfari is included for resort guests, and the waterpark operates year-round. The lazy river was named one of the most amazing lazy rivers at U.S. hotels by Travel + Leisure.

Free shuttles run to both Walt Disney World and Universal Orlando, which is useful if you would rather not rent a car or rely on Uber. The resort also has a kids’ activity centre, an indoor mini-golf course, and a family-fun centre. Rooms range from standard hotel rooms to one-, two-, or three-bedroom suites, with the larger suites including full kitchens, which is useful for longer family stays.

2. Gaylord Palms Resort & Convention Center

Gaylord Palms is a four-star resort in Kissimmee (the more budget-friendly alternative to Lake Buena Vista), around 12 miles from Universal Orlando and just under 3 miles from Walt Disney World.

The on-site Cypress Springs Waterpark has 7 waterslides (including the Florida Free Fall drop slide and the Tamiami Twister racing slides), 2 swimming pools, a multi-level water playground, a FlowRider, and the Crystal River Rapids lazy river, which was added in March 2021.

The waterpark is open year-round, with daily admission for overnight guests included in the resort fee. Day passes are also available for non-guests through the resort, which is uncommon among Orlando’s bigger hotel waterparks.

The hotel itself is built around an enormous glass-roofed atrium with indoor gardens, restaurants, and walking paths winding through a recreation of the Florida Everglades. This gives families something to do indoors on a rainy day or once the waterpark has closed for the evening.

3. Universal’s Cabana Bay Beach Resort

Cabana Bay is a Universal Orlando on-site hotel located around 15 miles from Walt Disney World. It’s one of the most budget-friendly hotels at Universal and the only one with a lazy river. The resort is split into two themed courtyards:

  1. Lazy River Courtyard: the lazy river itself and a smaller zero-entry pool
  2. Cabana Courtyard: a 100-foot waterslide built into a dive tower, a splash pad and a sand pit

The benefits of staying on-site at Universal include early park admission to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter and complimentary shuttles to the theme parks and CityWalk. The hotel is also within walking distance of Volcano Bay, Universal’s dedicated waterpark.

The theme is retro 1950s and 60s Florida-coast. Family suites sleep up to six and include a kitchenette, making it a great choice for larger families.

Disney’s Beach Club Resort is a Deluxe hotel in the Boardwalk area of Walt Disney World, within walking distance of EPCOT and connected by Friendship Boat to Hollywood Studios.

The three-acre pool complex, Stormalong Bay, is shared between the Beach Club and Yacht Club and only available to guests of either resort. Stormalong Bay has a lazy river, a sand-bottom pool, and a 230-foot waterslide built into a life-size shipwreck replica.

Stormalong Bay and the Shipwreck slide reopened in summer 2025 after a six-month refurbishment.

The interior of this hotel has only subtle mentions of Disney and instead has more of a polished nautical New England theme. Although I’ve never had the pleasure of staying in this hotel, we have explored the lobby when we got caught in a tropical storm while walking the Boardwalk one afternoon.

Disney’s Yacht Club shares Stormalong Bay with the Beach Club hotel next door, so the lazy river, sand-bottom pool, and 230-foot Shipwreck slide are identical. The choice between hotels predominantly comes down to aesthetics: the Yacht Club has darker wood, brass detailing, and a quieter, more grown-up feel.

Like the Beach Club, the Yacht Club sits in the Boardwalk area within walking distance of EPCOT, with a Friendship Boat connection to Hollywood Studios. The on-site dining is more polished than at most Disney resorts, with three options:

  1. Yachtsman Steakhouse for an upscale steak dinner
  2. Ale & Compass Restaurant for American comfort food
  3. Crew’s Cup Lounge for drinks and light bites

While I’ve never stayed at this hotel, I have been in the lobby as we headed to dinner at Ale & Compass Restaurant before going to Magic Kingdom for Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party.

6. Orlando World Center Marriott

Orlando World Center Marriott is a four-star resort in the Disney area, just under 4 miles from Walt Disney World and around 12 miles from Universal Orlando. It has 7 slides, the most of any hotel on this list, and 6 pools across the two waterpark areas.

River Falls Waterpark has a 575-foot lazy river that flows around palm trees and fountains, plus a 50-foot slide tower with three multi-rider tube slides:

  1. Tailspin: The longest at 525 feet, with sharp turns and closed spheres
  2. Boomerango: A 425-foot slide that lifts riders 20 feet into the air
  3. Aquasphere: A 498-foot twisting slide

Falls Pool tower is the second waterpark space, with a 90-foot speed slide and two 200-foot twisting waterslides. It also has a lagoon-style heated pool with a zero-entry section, a separate kids’ splash zone, and poolside dining at the Cargo Bar.

The waterpark is open year-round, with extended hours through the summer and a nightly poolside laser show synced to popular music, making it a regular pick among the best Orlando hotels for kids.

7. JW Marriott Orlando, Grande Lakes

The JW Marriott sits on the 500-acre Grande Lakes Orlando estate and shares the Grande Lakes Waterpark with the Ritz-Carlton next door.

The waterpark was completed in 2023 and reconfigured into five distinct zones:

  1. A quarter-mile, 670,000-gallon lazy river
  2. The Headwaters Slide Tower with three waterslides
  3. An Aquaventure climbing-and-slide obstacle course
  4. Zero-entry Splash Cove for younger kids
  5. VIP Oasis firepit lounge

Both the JW and the Ritz share the additional on-site facilities including a Greg Norman-designed 18-hole golf course, several restaurants, a spa, and theme-park transportation.

So the choice largely comes down to room product and service tier rather than facilities, with the JW being the more family-friendly option.

8. Ritz-Carlton Orlando, Grande Lakes

🏊‍♂️ Swimming Pools: 3
🌊 Waterslides: 3
🌎 Distance To Universal Orlando: 14 Miles
🎢 Distance To Walt Disney World Resort: 5 Miles

The Ritz-Carlton shares its facilities with the JW Marriott above, meaning guests staying here also have access to the Grande Lakes Waterpark, the spa, the Greg Norman-designed 18-hole golf course, and the complimentary park transportation.

Where the two hotels differ is in the room and the rest of the resort experience. The Ritz is the quieter, more polished five-star experience with fine-dining restaurants and a more grown-up atmosphere.

Ritz Kids, the on-site children’s programme, is included with the room rate and runs themed days throughout the school holidays, which still makes the resort suitable for families.

9. Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney World

🏊‍♂️ Swimming Pools: 4
🌊 Waterslides: 2

The Four Seasons Resort Orlando is located inside Walt Disney World on a private 26-acre plot within the Golden Oak luxury residential community.

Explorer Island is the resort’s private waterpark, with a 7,590-square-foot zero-entry family pool, a lazy river with two spray cannons and a cascading 9-foot waterfall, and two 242-foot waterslides, one open-air and one running through transparent fibreglass. Travel + Leisure has named the lazy river one of the most amazing lazy rivers at U.S. hotels.

There is also a separate adults-only pool, an interactive splash pad, and complimentary Disney park transportation. This is the most expensive hotel on this list, with room product, dining, and service to match.

10. Reunion Resort, A Salamander Golf & Spa Resort

🏊‍♂️ Swimming Pools: 8
🌊 Waterslides: 1
🌎 Distance To Universal Orlando: 20 Miles
🎢 Distance To Walt Disney World Resort: 9 Miles

The Reunion Resort has recently been rebranded as part of the Salamander hotel group and is now a five-star property. The resort is enormous (2,300 acres) and features a five-acre waterpark with a 1,000-foot lazy river, a 110-foot waterslide, a kids’ splash zone, and a zero-entry pool.

Alongside the waterpark, there are 7 outdoor swimming pools, three private golf courses, and seven on-site restaurants. The accommodation is unusual. Instead of standard hotel rooms, Reunion offers two- to fourteen-bedroom villas with full kitchens, which makes it a great choice for large families.

11. Omni Orlando Resort at ChampionsGate

🏊‍♂️ Swimming Pools: 5
🌊 Waterslides: 3
🌎 Distance To Universal Orlando: 20 Miles
🎢 Distance To Walt Disney World Resort: 7 Miles

Omni at ChampionsGate has an on-site waterpark with a wave pool, an 850-foot lazy river that flows through tunnels and gentle rapids, a 125-foot corkscrew waterslide at the family pool, three smaller slides at the kids’ pool, and an adults-only space.

Across the rest of the 1,500-acre estate, the Omni has two championship golf courses, several restaurants, and theme park transportation.

The trade-off for Omni is its location. It’s around a 20-minute drive to Disney, which is more than many of the other hotels on this list. However, the location is reflected in the nightly rate of this hotel and makes it great value for money.

12. Wyndham Grand Orlando Resort Bonnet Creek

🏊‍♂️ Swimming Pools: 5

Wyndham Grand Orlando is an Official Walt Disney World Gateway Hotel located inside the Disney resort area. This hotel has:

  • 5 Outdoor Pools
  • 2 Lazy Rivers
  • Splash Pad
  • 8 Hot Tubs

The pools and lazy rivers are heated to 82°F year-round, which matters more than you might expect in early spring when the temperature can dip into the 60s. Other amenities include scheduled park transportation, four restaurants, and a 10-acre on-site lake surrounded by walking paths.

The property shares a complex with Club Wyndham Bonnet Creek (the timeshare next door), so the Wyndham Grand is the standard hotel-booking option for short stays.

13. Signia by Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek

The Waldorf Astoria Orlando is the quieter, more adult-focused hotel on the Bonnet Creek estate. The rooms, dining, and service are all slightly more high-end, but the kids’ programme isn’t as extensive as the Ritz Kids at Grande Lakes.

This hotel is an Official Walt Disney World Hotel, which means guests benefit from 30-minute early entry to all Disney parks every day and complimentary park transportation.

The hotel also shares its facilities with the Signia by Hilton Orlando above. On-property there is also a 12,000-square-foot main pool with a zero-entry section, a separate cabana pool for swimming laps, and a Jacuzzi.

15. Hilton Orlando

The Hilton Orlando has the longest single lazy river of any hotel on this list at 892 feet, with complimentary tubes, waterfalls, fountains, and water cannons along the route. The main resort pool is zero-entry with a 105-foot figure-eight waterslide. There is also a separate adults-only pool with private cabanas.

The hotel is located on International Drive, within walking distance of the Orange County Convention Center and a shorter drive from Universal than hotels in the Lake Buena Vista area. As a Universal Partner Hotel, guests get early park admission to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter and shuttles to the Universal parks.

Parking and dining costs at the resort are on the high end for Orlando, so be sure to factor that into your budget if you choose to stay here.

16. Holiday Inn Club Vacations at Orange Lake Resort

🌊 Waterslides: 4

The resort also has four golf courses, an 80-acre spring-fed lake with kayaks, paddle boats, and WaveRunners, three arcades, eight dining options, and pickleball.

Prices at this resort are very reasonable given the range of on-site amenities, and Orange Lake as a whole works particularly well for families who want a self-contained resort with variety beyond the pool, rather than a base for theme-park days.

17. Fantasy World Resort

Frequently Asked Questions

Here are some of the questions I’m often asked about booking a Orlando hotel with waterslides and a lazy river.

Which Orlando hotel has the longest lazy river?

The Hilton Orlando on International Drive has the longest single lazy river at 892 feet, with the Signia by Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek a close second at 820 feet. If we count the Grande Lakes Waterpark’s quarter-mile lazy river (shared by the JW Marriott and the Ritz-Carlton), that’s the longest in the city at roughly 1,320 feet. Reunion Resort’s lazy river is also a full 1,000 feet.

Which Orlando hotel has the most waterslides?

Gaylord Palms (Cypress Springs Waterpark) and Orlando World Center Marriott (River Falls plus the Falls Pool tower) each have seven waterslides.

Are these waterparks open to non-guests?

Most are, through the ResortPass day-pass platform, although prices vary by season and demand. The Universal hotel (Cabana Bay) and the three on-site Disney hotels (Beach Club, Yacht Club, Four Seasons) are guest-only. The smaller Kissimmee resorts (Fantasy World, Flamingo) are also guest-only. Beyond hotel waterparks, the best waterparks in Orlando are open to anyone.

Do these hotels charge resort fees?

Yes, almost all of them. Resort fees in Orlando typically run $40 to $50 a night and usually cover waterpark access, parking, and Wi-Fi. We have a fuller breakdown in our hidden costs UK travellers face in Orlando guide.

Which Orlando hotel is best for kids?

For under-tens, I would lean towards The Grove (Surfari Waterpark) or Cabana Bay (theming and Universal access) for the day-after-day water-play factor. For older kids and teenagers, Gaylord Palms (FlowRider plus seven slides) or Orlando World Center Marriott (seven slides plus laser shows) tend to be more engaging. The on-site Disney resorts (Beach Club, Yacht Club, Four Seasons) make the most sense for families that want a Disney-immersive trip rather than a waterpark-led one.

Are the lazy rivers heated in winter?

Most are, although the operating temperatures vary. The Wyndham Grand Orlando Resort Bonnet Creek and the Signia by Hilton both heat their lazy rivers to 82°F year-round, which matters more than people expect on an early-spring trip when air temperatures can drop into the 60s. Disney’s Stormalong Bay is heated. The smaller Kissimmee budget resorts are less reliable in mid-winter, so it’s worth confirming before a January or February booking.
