11 Best Restaurants in Puerto Del Carmen, Lanzarote

There are more than 100 different bars, restaurants and cafés in Puerto Del Carmen, Lanzarote. As such, finding the right one can be difficult.

I have visited the town of Puerto Del Carmen more than 20 times over the last 30 years, and when I stay in this area of Lanzarote, I always go self-catering. I’ve therefore tried a lot of restaurants in Puerto Del Carmen.

Wherever you go on holiday, I understand that finding a great place to eat can be difficult. As such, I put together this guide to my favourite places to eat in Puerto Del Carmen.

These restaurants span the entire length of the town and go down into the harbour area (old town). Therefore, wherever you are in Puerto Del Carmen, you should be able to find one of the restaurants on this list.

1. L’Italiano

📍Address: Av. de las Playas, 35510 Puerto del Carmen, Las Palmas, Spain

L’Italiano is the most popular restaurant in Puerto Del Carmen. This restaurant is high-end compared to others in the town and is perfect for a special occasion.

I visited L’Italiano with my wife Helen and our son Oliver on a recent visit to Puerto Del Carmen. We were celebrating Helen’s birthday and treated to courteous service and delicious food.

Unlike elsewhere in Puerto Del Carmen, reserving a table here is common. In fact, without a reservation, you’ll likely be queueing.

If you don’t have time to wait for a table, then L’Italiano offers take-out. I’ve had take-out pizzas from here several times. A couple of years ago, especially when my son was younger, my wife and I would get take-out from here and eat it back at our apartment.

2. Tropicana Grill

📍Address: Av. de las Playas, S/N, 35510 Tías, Las Palmas, Spain

Tropicana Grill is located across from the Fariones Hotel. This is one of the last restaurants between ‘the front’ and the Biosfera Plaza Shopping Plaza.

The decor at this modern restaurant is relaxing yet stylish. Meanwhile, the food is delicious. Tropicana Grill serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. As such, I often eat here several times when visiting Puerto Del Carmen.

3. Trattoria

📍Address: Local 16, Av. de las Playas, 35510 Puerto del Carmen, Las Palmas, Spain

Just across from Puerto Del Carmen Casino, is Trattoria. This Italian restaurant has the same owner as L’Italiano and is just as popular.

The decor here is high-end compared to other restaurants in Puerto Del Carmen. As such, you’ll find that Trattoria seems to be more popular with couples rather than families.

Again, I’d recommend making a table reservation if you’d like to dine here. Otherwise, you’ll likely be waiting outside until space becomes available.

4. Backstage Food + Drinks

📍 Address: Avenida el varadero 18, 35518 Puerto del Carmen, Las Palmas, Spain

Backstage Food + Drinks is in Puerto Del Carmen harbour, across from the large outdoor play area.

This restaurant and bar has an extensive wine and cocktail list. Meanwhile, the food menu specifically focuses on Italian and fresh seafood dishes. The portions are large, and the prices are reasonable.

Backstage Food + Drinks is one of the smaller restaurants in the Puerto Del Carmen area. Therefore, I’d recommend arriving early if you’d like to grab a bite to eat or drink here.

5. Café La Ola

📍Address: Av. de las Playas, 10, 35510 Puerto del Carmen, Las Palmas, Spain

The beachfront restaurant of Café La Ola is one of the oldest in Puerto Del Carmen and dates back to the early 90s.

This restaurant serves an extensive range of international cuisine and local Canarian dishes. As such, it’s a great place to try some traditional foods from the island.

Café La Ola is one of few restaurants in Puerto Del Carmen to have uninterrupted views out to sea. Meanwhile, the live music makes this place great for watching the sunset.

6. Enjoy

📍Address: Av. de las Playas, 21, 35510 Puerto del Carmen, Las Palmas, Spain

Enjoy is one of the largest and best Asian restaurants in Lanzarote. This modern restaurant is located in the heart of Puerto Del Carmen, next to the Routa 66 bar.

The menu at Enjoy is extensive, serving a range of sushi, teppanyaki, curry & dim sum. While this is one of the largest restaurants in Puerto Del Carmen, it’s also one of the busiest. As such, you may have to wait for a table during peak dining times.

7. Fariones Grill

📍Address: C. Cenobio, 3, 35510 Tías, Las Palmas, Spain

Around the corner from the five-star Fariones Hotel is the award-winning Fariones Grill. Serving an extensive range of Spanish steaks and wine, this restaurant is a firm favourite with regular visitors to Puerto Del Carmen.

Fariones Grill is a small restaurant, and it does not take bookings. As such, I recommend arriving early to avoid disappointment.

8. Saly Pimienta

📍Address: Av. el Varadero, 4, 35518 Tías, Las Palmas, Spain

Saly Pimienta is a family-run restaurant offering the best sunset view in Puerto Del Carmen. However, only a selected number of tables benefit from this view. As such, I highly recommend arriving early to avoid disappointment.

Situated in the old town next to the harbour, Saly Pimienta has an extensive seafood menu. Some favourites include gambas pil-pil (garlic prawns), whole grilled fish, and calamari a la plancha.

9. The Black Buffalo

📍Address: Av. de las Playas, 29, 35510 Puerto del Carmen, Las Palmas, Spain

The Black Buffalo is an American-style BBQ across from Playa Grande Beach. The decor here is unique, with the walls adorned by buffalo skulls adding to the Wild West atmosphere.

While The Black Buffalo mainly focuses on meats, a kid’s menu features pizzas, burgers, and chicken. As such, this is one of the best places to dine in Lanzarote as a family.

10. Street Food Lanzarote

📍Address: C. Roque Nublo, 1, 35510 Puerto del Carmen, Las Palmas, Spain

If you’re looking for a more casual dining experience in Puerto Del Carmen’s old town, try Street Food Lanzarote.

This restaurant boasts a modern yet rustic decor. Meanwhile, the menu includes a range of tapas, tex-mex and burgers.

11. Rocas Blancas

📍Address: Av. de las Playas, 35510 Puerto del Carmen, Las Palmas, Spain

Just across from Playa Grande Beach, you’ll find Rocas Blancas. This casual restaurant is affordable and a great place to drink and dine if you’re on a budget.

Personally, I wouldn’t have dinner here. The atmosphere is more like a bar than a restaurant in the evenings. However, it’s an excellent place for breakfast or lunch.
