The region of Puerto Del Carmen in Lanzarote is home to over 100 different restaurants, which, unsurprisingly, makes finding the right one hard.
Luckily there are eleven restaurants scattered along the beachfront and into the old town that we believe are the best the region has to offer and well worth checking out during your visit.
1. Backstage Food + Drinks
📍 Address: Avenida el varadero 18, 35518 Puerto del Carmen, Las Palmas, Spain
Backstage Food + Drinks is a relatively new restaurant that’s opened in Puerto Del Carmen’s old town just opposite the large outdoor play area down in the harbour.
With modern decor and an extensive wine and cocktail list, it’s no surprise that this place fills up incredibly quickly with those looking for fine dining and drinks as the sun sets.
The food menu here is specifically focused on Italian and fresh seafood dishes and doesn’t disappoint with portion sizes, quality or price.
2. Café La Ola
📍Address: Av. de las Playas, 10, 35510 Puerto del Carmen, Las Palmas, Spain
The beachfront restaurant of Café La Ola is one of the oldest in the region, dating back to the early 90s.
Situated next to the casino just past Playa Grande beach towards the airport, this restaurant serves an extensive range of both international cuisine and local Canarian dishes.
However, that’s not all, as the venue regularly hosts live music and has some of the best-uninterrupted views out to sea – making it one of the best places to enjoy a relaxing dining experience.
3. Enjoy Asian Restaurant
📍Address: Av. de las Playas, 21, 35510 Puerto del Carmen, Las Palmas, Spain
If you’re looking for an authentic Asian dining experience in Lanzarote, then look no further than Enjoy Asian Restaurant.
This incredibly modern Asian restaurant is located in the heart of the Puerto Del Carmen strip just up from the Routa 66 bar and boasts an extensive range of Asian dishes, including; sushi, teppanyaki, curry & dim sum.
While this restaurant is one of the largest on the Puerto Del Carmen strip, it’s also one of the busiest so expect to wait for a table during peak dining times.
4. Fariones Grill
📍Address: C. Cenobio, 3, 35510 Tías, Las Palmas, Spain
Situated just around the corner from the incredible five-star Fariones Hotel is the Fariones Grill.
This award-winning restaurant is a firm favourite with repeat visitors to the Puerto Del Carmen region and serves up an extensive range of traditional Spanish steaks alongside incredible wines.
However, this restaurant does not take bookings. As such, given its small size and popularity, it’s best to arrive early to avoid disappointment.
5. L’Italiano
📍Address: Av. de las Playas, 35510 Puerto del Carmen, Las Palmas, Spain
It was impossible to ignore the popularity of L’Italiano on our most recent trip to Puerto Del Carmen since we found people queuing outside of this restaurant, waiting for a table every single night.
Most notably, the queuing at this incredible Italian restaurant begins significantly earlier than at any other restaurant you may queue for a table at (around 6:00pm) and ends significantly later (around 10:00pm).
However, since the decor here is incredibly high-end compared to other restaurants in Puerto Del Carmen, we opted against queuing and subsequently dining in here with Oliver (who was four months old at the time) and instead picked up a takeaway to eat back at our apartment.
This is an excellent option if you want to experience the delicious food (and I mean delicious, I completely overate as a result) but don’t want to wait for up to an hour or dine in a more high-end establishment.
6. Rocas Blancas
📍Address: Av. de las Playas, 35510 Puerto del Carmen, Las Palmas, Spain
Located just opposite the Playa Grande beach, this casual bar is one of the most affordable places to drink and dine on this list, perfect if you’re on a budget.
However, while it is ideal for breakfast and lunch, I’m not so sure I’d have dinner here since the atmosphere evolves a lot as the sun sets.
7. Saly Pimienta
📍Address: Av. el Varadero, 4, 35518 Tías, Las Palmas, Spain
Situated in the region’s old town, Saly Pimienta is a family-run restaurant that offers views of the best sunset in all of Puerto Del Carmen.
However, if you want a front seat to this incredible sunset, be sure to arrive early since there’s only a select number of tables that fill up very quickly.
Of course, the views aren’t the only reason to visit Saly Pimieta as the restaurant serves some delicious food too!
Being situated in the harbour, it’s no surprise that the menu’s focus is on seafood dishes, with the likes of; gambas pil-pil (garlic prawns), whole grilled fish, and calamari a la plancha being popular choices.
8. Street Food Lanzarote
📍Address: C. Roque Nublo, 1, 35510 Puerto del Carmen, Las Palmas, Spain
Street Food Lanzarote is a fantastic choice if you’re after a more casual dining experience while in Puerto Del Carmen.
This restaurant is once again located in the Old Town and offers modern yet rustic decor.
The menu boasts a range of tapas, tex-mex and burgers, all available at an incredibly affordable price, making Street Food Lanzarote an ideal choice for those looking to dine on a budget.
9. The Black Buffalo
📍Address: Av. de las Playas, 29, 35510 Puerto del Carmen, Las Palmas, Spain
If you’re looking for a more unique dining experience while in Puerto Del Carmen, The Black Buffalo is a perfect choice.
This restaurant specialises in American-style BBQ and serves up some of the most tender and flavoursome meats I’ve ever tasted.
The decor here is also incredibly unique, with the walls being adorned with buffalo skulls, adding to the Wild West atmosphere.
Unsurprisingly then the restaurant is always busy in the evening, especially with families, since the menu spans kid-friendly dishes such as pizzas, burgers and chicken.
Better still, this restaurant is centrally located on the corner in the heart of Puerto Del Carmen, just opposite Playa Grande Beach.
10. Trattoria
📍Address: Local 16, Av. de las Playas, 35510 Puerto del Carmen, Las Palmas, Spain
Located opposite the Puerto Del Carmen casino, you’ll find Trattoria, which is actually owned by (and just as popular as) L’Italiano.
Again this restaurant serves a range of incredibly high-end Italian foods with some fabulous wine pairings.
As you might expect, the decor inside is incredibly luxurious, which seems to favour couples over families most evenings.
11. Tropicana Grill
📍Address: Av. de las Playas, S/N, 35510 Tías, Las Palmas, Spain
Having recently undergone some extensive refurbishment and modernisation, it’s no surprise that the Tropicana Grill is one of the best restaurants in Puerto Del Carmen.
Located just opposite the old Fariones Hotel, this restaurant is one of the last before walking up to the Biosfera Plaza Shopping Centre.
The staff here are absolutely fantastic and incredibly attentive. The decor is relaxing yet stylish, and the food is absolutely delicious – So much so that we actually found ourselves eating both lunch and dinner here numerous times during our trip.
The restaurant is perfect for couples and families and is spacious enough to accommodate groups, provided you arrive early enough or book in advance.
