LAX To Union Station With The Flyaway Bus

The easiest way to get from LAX to Union Station is in my opinion on the Flyaway bus. The bus runs every 30 minutes from roughly 8am until 8pm (with a reduced service after-hours) from LAX to Union Station and is well signposted in both locations to make it easy to find.

The Flyaway bus costs $9.75 from LAX to Union Station and the journey takes between 45 minutes to 1 hour. Flyaway tickets can be purchased in-person or in advance online.

We’ve used the Flyaway bus every time we’ve flown to LAX and then wanted to get into the city, so in this post, we’ll be breaking down the journey step-by-step to help you.

Where To Catch The Flyaway Bus At LAX

Let’s start with where you’re going to catch the bus when you arrive at LAX. Firstly, proceed through security and customs. Then you’ll need to exit the airport. Proceed to the nearest Flyaway bus pick up point which will be signposted above.

If you’re unsure ask one of the staff members either inside or outside of the terminal. The Flyaway bus picks up and drops off at every terminal at LAX so there’s no need to walk to another terminal for the bus.

You can’t buy a ticket for the LAX to Union Station bus at LAX. Instead, you’ll either need to buy the ticket online in advance or buy the ticket for the trip once you arrive at Union Station (both methods are permitted by staff)

  1. do you know if you take the FLyway bus to Union if you can get off earlier? Ive been trying to find the route to see if it goes past our hotel. Any advice?

    1. Hi, I’m sorry I don’t think Flyaway provide you with any real-time info on the buses. You could try asking inside the terminal they may know more.

  2. Hello Loves!
Thanks so much for this. I find it incredibly useful for a trip coming up.
Today is April 24, 2019. curious, What was the publishing date of this post? ( which you make reference to a few times, but alas, I have failed to locate) Have the schedule or fare or other pertinent timeliness type info been updated since?
    Thanks MuCho,

    1. Hi Julia,

Thanks for getting in touch. It’s around 8 months, so nothing should have changed 🙂
We’ve not had to change anything but if you do notice any discrepancies be sure to contact us so we can update.

      Thanks in advance!

        Thank you kindly, doll! 🙂
As far as I could tell, it was exactly as you guys laid out. They pick up at lots of stops. whichever terminal you pop out, boom , there’s a stop.

I will mention that the public transport metro line is currently under construction, and should be connected to airport around 2020. another option to get from airport to spots around the metropolis!
