International Drive is one of the most popular places to base yourself in Orlando, with dozens of hotels offering free shuttle buses to Walt Disney World, Universal, and SeaWorld. We’ve stayed along International Drive multiple times and this guide covers the six worth considering.
How I selected these hotels: every hotel below meets two criteria, both verified directly with the property in April 2026:
- Location: within the International Drive district, including the I-Drive corridor itself and immediately adjacent side streets such as American Way and Jamaican Court
- Free shuttle: at least one major Orlando park (Walt Disney World, Universal Orlando, or SeaWorld) at no extra charge to guests
- Verification: confirmed by checking each hotel’s official website and triangulating against recent guest reviews on Tripadvisor and Booking.com
- Caveats: some hotels run shuttles through a third-party partner requiring advance booking, and shuttle frequency varies between properties. Each card flags these where applicable.

Not convinced by my top three picks? Here is the full ranked list.
Best for large families
1. Floridays Resort Orlando
🏰 Shuttle To Disney: 07:30, 10:00
🌎 Shuttle To Universal: 08:45
Floridays is a Walt Disney World Good Neighbor Hotel located at the south end of International Drive within walking distance of Publix, Aldi, and Super Target.
The accommodation is made up of two-bedroom and three-bedroom suites each of which come with a fully equipped kitchen, in-suite washer and dryer, and a private balcony. The three-bedroom suites sleep up to eight, which makes Floridays a great choice for large families.
The pool complex has a large grand pool with a zero-entry section and kids’ splash pad, plus a quieter second pool with a hot tub, making Floridays among the best hotels in Orlando for kids. Palm Café and the poolside Pool Bar & Grill are great on-site casual dining spots. The only downside to this hotel is the resort fee which is $35 a night plus tax, the highest of any hotel on this list.
- Free shuttle to Disney World, Universal & SeaWorld
- Free parking
- Two outdoor swimming pools (one with kids’ splash pad)
- In-suite washer and dryer
- Children’s play area
- Fitness centre
Best for SeaWorld access
2. SpringHill Suites By Marriott
🏰 Shuttle To Disney: 09:45
🌎 Shuttle To Universal: 08:45, 11:00
SpringHill Suites by Marriott sits at the south end of International Drive, directly across from SeaWorld and within walking distance (about 15 minutes) of the SeaWorld entrance. As an Official Hotel of SeaWorld, guests get priority park entry, a free SeaWorld Rescue Tour, and in-park discounts.
Rooms are studio-style suites with a separated bathroom layout (toilet in one room, shower in another), sleeping up to six with two queen beds plus a pull-out sofa. Each suite has a mini-fridge, microwave, and free Wi-Fi.
The pool is heated and zero-entry with a small splash zone for kids, shared with the adjacent Fairfield Inn. Splash Bar & Grill serves food and drinks poolside, and there’s a 24-hour Starbucks (the SpringHill Lounge) in the lobby. Parking is $12 a night, which is on the higher side for I-Drive but lower than at Universal or Disney’s official hotels.
- Free shuttle to Disney, Universal, SeaWorld, Aquatica, Discovery Cove & Vineland Premium Outlets
- Free hot breakfast
- Large outdoor swimming pool
- Splash zone
- Fitness centre
Best for Universal access
3. Avanti International Resort
🏰 Shuttle To Disney: 09:25, 11:45
🌎 Shuttle To Universal: 08:00, 09:40, 11:40
Avanti is a Universal Partner Hotel directly opposite The Wheel at ICON Park, with the I-Ride Trolley’s Red Line stopping right outside. It’s the largest hotel on this list with over 600 rooms across multiple buildings, giving it a more lively, resort-style atmosphere.
Standard rooms come in either superior queen or deluxe queen format with one king or two queens. However, the differences between the two are minor enough that I’d just book the cheapest option. Most rooms are accessed via open-air exterior corridors, which can mean some pool or street noise depending on where your room sits.
The pool complex has a separate children’s pool with fountains, a hot tub, and a sand-bottomed sun terrace with beach volleyball and shuffleboard. There’s also an arcade, a Café and Marketplace serving lunch and dinner, a poolside bar, and a Lobby Barista serving Starbucks. The resort fee is $18 a night plus tax, which covers Wi-Fi, parking, theme park shuttles, and two I-Ride Trolley tickets when booking direct.
- Free shuttle bus to Universal Orlando & Walt Disney World
- Large outdoor swimming pool
- Kids splash pad
- Pool-side bar
- Indoor games room
Best Universal-area value
4. Ramada Plaza Resort & Suites
🏰 Shuttle To Disney: 09:25, 11:15
🌎 Shuttle To Universal: 07:10
We have personally stayed at the Ramada Plaza Resort for ten nights when travelling to Orlando on a budget. This hotel sits at the north end of International Drive on a lakefront site, just one mile from Universal Orlando, two blocks from Volcano Bay, and walking distance to Universal CityWalk. There’s no resort fee, which is unusual for an I-Drive property of this size and one less of the hidden costs of an Orlando holiday to budget for.
The hotel splits across two 12-storey towers. The South Tower has 164 deluxe rooms, most with lakefront views and exterior corridors. The North Tower has 131 suites with separate sleeping and living areas, kitchenettes with two-burner stoves, and granite worktops. The two-bedroom suites here can sleep up to ten making it a great choice for larger families.
The standout is the Club Level Suites in the North Tower, which include exclusive access to the rooftop SkyBar with unlimited complimentary beer and wine from noon to 8pm daily, plus a swim-in-place pool, spa, sundeck, and fitness centre. The ground-floor pool with hot tub is on the smaller side, and the free continental breakfast is basic (cereal, fruit, waffles, juice).
- Free shuttle to Disney World and Universal Orlando
- Free parking
- Free breakfast
- Large outdoor swimming pool
Best budget pick near Universal
5. SureStay Plus By Best Western
🏰 Shuttle To Disney: 09:20
🌎 Shuttle To Universal: 07:20, 11:25
SureStay Plus sits on American Way, a quieter side street off the north end of International Drive, 1.3 miles from Universal Studios and within walking distance of ICON Park and Fun Spot America. The 192 rooms have all been recently renovated with mini-fridges, microwaves, coffee makers, and flat-screen TVs.

The pool is heated and outdoor, with a Splash Pool Bar serving cocktails and a separate Kid Zone playground and splash park alongside. Free continental breakfast runs 6:30am to 9am with a make-your-own waffle station.
This is a two-star hotel and the rooms are basic with no soft seating beyond the bed. The breakfast spread is limited, and recent guest reviews flag inconsistencies on cleanliness. The trade-off is the lower nightly rate and proximity to Universal.
- Free shuttle to Walt Disney World and Universal Orlando
- Free parking
- Large outdoor swimming pool
- Kid-friendly splash pad
Best for budget all-park access
6. Quality Inn on International Drive
🏰 Shuttle To Disney: 09:30
🌎 Shuttle To Universal: 07:05, 11:10
Quality Inn sits on Jamaican Court, a side street just off International Drive that runs behind the ICON Park complex. It’s about a 5-minute walk from The Wheel and easily walkable to dozens of restaurants and shops along I-Drive. Being on a side street rather than the main drag means rooms tend to be quieter at night.
The 200 rooms have been recently refurbished with new flooring, refreshed bathrooms, microwaves, refrigerators, and a desk with an ergonomic chair. The outdoor heated pool is decent-sized and while I’ve not stayed here personally myself the hotel has been well-reviewed for cleanliness.
This hotel has a children’s paddling area and a hot tub. There’s also a free continental breakfast with a make-your-own waffle station, although the gym is at the adjacent YMCA rather than on-site.
- Free shuttle bus to Disney World and Universal Orlando
- Free parking
- Free continental breakfast
- Large outdoor swimming pool
Frequently Asked Questions
Here are some of the questions I’m often asked about booking an International Drive hotel with a free shuttle.
Are the shuttles really free?
At most hotels, yes, though they’re usually bundled into the daily resort fee rather than being entirely free in the literal sense. Resort fees typically cover the shuttle, parking, Wi-Fi, and sometimes breakfast. A few International Drive hotels charge no resort fee at all, so it’s worth checking before booking.
Do I still need a car if my hotel has a free shuttle?
It depends on how you travel. Hotel shuttles run on fixed schedules, usually with one or two morning departures and a couple of evening returns. A rental car or Uber gives you significantly more flexibility if you want it.
Do the shuttles go directly to Magic Kingdom?
Usually no. Most International Drive hotels drop guests at Disney’s Transportation and Ticket Center (TTC) or at Epcot, with Disney’s free internal monorail, bus, and Skyliner network getting you to whichever park you’re visiting. Avanti is the only hotel on this list with a direct Magic Kingdom drop-off.
Do I need to book the shuttle in advance?
At most hotels, yes. Reservations are usually required at least 24 hours ahead, either through the concierge desk or via a third-party booking system like themeparkbus.com (used by Ramada Plaza and Avanti). Seats are limited and bookings open on a first-come-first-served basis, so reserving early on busy days makes sense.
What time do the return shuttles leave the parks?
Return times vary by hotel and park, but most run a late afternoon and a late evening pickup, with the last shuttle usually leaving the park between 9pm and 10pm. Worth checking the return schedule when you book your outbound, especially if you plan to stay for fireworks or late closing.
