Is The Center Parcs Welcome Pack Worth It?

Going back over a year ago Cora won some amazing vouchers for Center Parcs. It was a place we both wanted to go but always chose a holiday abroad instead.

As soon as she won the vouchers we planned trips that never came to light and eventually we got married and decided to use them for a little honeymoon away.

We decided to splash out and get some extras added on to our booking to make life easier and make the trip a little more special. One of those things was a Center Parcs welcome pack and best of all It is delivered straight to your lodge.

This is a breakdown of each welcome pack available and if it is worth it…

What Are The Different Center Parcs Welcome Pack?

Before we jump in to work out what different welcome packs there are and what they are worth I wanted to say that Center Parcs does point out that the images they use on their site are only for website purposes and are not always the exact products you receive. Also, some of the products may be subject to change.

Below is a list of all the different food packages you can get as part of your stay at Center Parcs. As far as I can tell these are to be booked in advance so they can make sure it is all correct and ready in your lodge for you.

I have included a screenshot of what one of the shops would look like if you were to buy it through MySupermarket. I only did it for the family starter pack as this was the one we received and so I could honestly see the products and brands used to make it more accurate.

This compares each supermarket to give you the cheapest shop. This, of course, will depend on where you live in the country as I know prices for certain items can change. And determine whether you feel the Center Parcs welcome pack is worth it.

The starter pack is what is stated, a starter pack. This is to get you going for your stay at Center Parcs. If you are looking for something a little more food then you may want to upgrade to the family grocery pack.

Price Comparison

Below is a breakdown of the family starter pack we ordered for our stay at Center Parcs and how it compared to MySupermarket. Some of the items are double the weight/amount as they weren’t available and have been as closely matched as possible.

This is to give you a rough idea of whether you want to bring your own food or order the Center Parcs welcome pack. Some of these items you may have at home anyway such as sauces, oil, teabags and coffee so you would only require fresh produce.

Shopping yourself and bringing the items you want and need for your trip would save you roughly £20 on the family grocery pack.

This also depends on how many of you that are coming and eating from that pack. The food for us was going to last longer as there was only two of us.

Can You Get Gluten Free, Dairy Free, Vegan and Vegetarian Welcome Packs?

While the ParcMarket supplies different dietary requirement foods and most of the restaurants are aware of gluten free and dairy free, vegan and vegetarian there is very little information on whether any of the welcome packs can be tailored to these dietary requirements.

If you are really interested in getting a Center Parcs welcome pack I would suggest ringing up and add it to your booking, that way the phone representative can make sure there is a note with the booking.

Alternatively, you can bring your own, making sure you have what you need and so you don’t have to worry. Also, you can check out the parc market to get extra food to suit your diet and cooking preferences.

Do You Get Anything To Make A Meal With?

What is generally included in the Center Parcs welcome pack is supplied to get you started. These are things like tea, coffee, sugar, drinks and snacks. Some of the packs are more tailored to meals such as the English breakfast pack which gives you everything you need to make an English breakfast. Other than the bacon, sausage and eggs in the family starter pack, there is nothing else you can make a comprehensive meal from.

I suspect that this is due to taste, everyone is different and not all people will want to have a chicken dinner on a Monday night.

From the family starter pack, I can make mostly breakfast meals as I have the supplies for an English breakfast, hot sandwiches such as bacon sandwich, cereal and toast. This leaves lunch and dinner to be arranged by you.

Can You Use Vouchers To Pay For The Center Parcs Welcome Pack?

Quick answer yes you can. As we were using vouchers to book our whole accommodation and the welcome pack we were booking by phone. Depending on the vouchers depends on how they can be used.

I believe there are some that are credit card size that has a code you can use online (correct me if I am wrong) or there are paper vouchers.

We were using the paper vouchers which had to be posted. As we booked over the phone the lovely lady gave us an address to send the vouchers off along with some small notes so the vouchers were verified as our payment and not anyone else.

Once the vouchers were received and processed we got all our details through for booking. As the Center Parcs welcome pack is required to be booked in advance I would suggest ringing to book or add it to your booking and then post off to pay.

Conclusion

In conclusion to if I thought the Center Parcs welcome pack was worth it, for me on my first visit yes it was. As we didn’t know what we would be doing, whether we would be eating out a lot or wanting to make most of our meals here.

As we were heading to a conference at the weekend afterwards we didn’t want to take a huge amount of food with us, for it to be sat in a car for the duration of the weekend.

We were also using vouchers to cover the cost which made it feel less daunting spending the £52.50. And finally, we were celebrating as we were having our honeymoon at Center Parcs. All these small factors weighed in for us which made the Center Parcs welcome pack worth it.

If I were to return and spend the same amount of time here I would be more prepared and bring our own sauces and supplies from home and pick up our fresh food from a nearby supermarket.

This would also keep costs down and you don’t have to worry about keeping food cool on your drive to Center Parcs.

That is everything you need to know about the Center Parcs welcome pack. If you are a frequent Center Parcs visitor and have had one of the above packs delivered to your lodge before I would love to know what you thought.

If you going for the first time and are looking at adding one of the welcome packs to your booking I hope this helped you decide whether it is the right choice for you.
